I personally have no interest in owning a titan, but like everyone i give them thought.
Thinking about what may be the concerns and interests of game developers as they seem to be struggling silently with managing them.
Something simple, something entertaining, something that offers a lot of creativity, and that is not something only a carebear would want.
The thought that came to mind was simply an extension to existing titans as well as cause for planning in future builds.
----- Modular Titan Subsystems + POS Tool ----- Sharing the slot of the subsystems, but without the required nature of strategic cruisers, minor alterations to stats and functions offered by the titan can be added. However, they require several hours ( or we may argue for a couple days *wink wink*) to activate using a small anchored POS tool.
Now what is the point you ask?
Well a creative mind can see how this offers a few things such as; ~ alternating the function and strategy of multiple fleeted titans, as well as customizing private uses. ~ provoking encounters if only to generate subcap battles, thus more pew pew. ~ if it is capable of being aborted thus losing the subsystem module then the risk of losing the titan is not certain. ~ this plays off the jump drive changes and rationalizes scattering POS activity of this nature. ~ possibly further encouraging a distribution of titan ships across territories.
Effects can be extensive and not necessarily use more than one subsystem like with the strategic cruiser..
Effects such as: Enhanced boosting, Enhanced personal ewar range, Enhanced X-Large Gun damage, Squad, Wing, or Fleet wide Micro Jump Drive( spool up of 2mins with no cool down?), Momentum control enhancement (unbumpable)
Side effects such as: reduced capacitor, reduced jump range( i recommend for boosting ship not X-large gun damage cause we want ship explosions and titans to risk death).
You'll have to look at the code to see how best to classify and create this feature.. as I'm not trying to suggest it become a tech 3 ship, but this addition can stack onto the other desires expressed, such as increasing market value of wormhole materials by simply copy and pasting the existing changes a tech 3 subsystem makes on a ship and changing the attributes.
Additionally you would ask, how does working on this rank in priority? Well with other capital changes in consideration I predict that increase industry productivity covers the ability to establish the supply, but the demand i believe would be more clear as one considers increasing the desire of using a single titan for more than a means of transportation.
So yeah looks like I've given plenty for the trolls to work with. How about the Devs?
