I wish to donate some money to the arts - however I abhor charity for its own sake and prefer to provide opportunities for people to make money using their skills.
I am not rich by capsuleer standards, but I am willing to accept bids for a humorous poem to be written on a subject of my choice. The winning poem will receive 150,000,000 isk (one hundred and fifty million) isk. Runner up prizes will be awarded based on number of additional applicants. If there are five applicants, a further poem will be chosen as runner up with a prize of 50,000,000 isk. If there are ten or more applicants, a third poem will be chosen as a runner up, again with a prize of 50,000,000 isk.
Prizes may be exchanged for a favour of the poet's choice upon the agreement of both the poet and myself.
The subject of the poem is the disturbing proliferation of capsuleer organisations that have multiple Admirals and virtually no actively deployed combat fleets.
Applicants should evemail their submission directly to me. I will close submissions on Monday, the first day of December and will be declaring a list of winners within a week of that date. Applicants should be aware that their submissions become my property. Applicants will be granted a license to publish their own submissions in perpetuity, but I retain ownership and will almost certainly be making AT LEAST the winning poem and any runners-up poems public on these forums and through State Media channels.
May the odds be in your favour, artistic types!

I'd love to give it a try. But, I plan on being President around that time. I have to save that kind of magic for the speeches.
Oh well. Here, have one.
There once was a corp named PIE. Golden Fleets filled the sky. First there was Blake Who FCed raids on trolleys of cake. Now they nap on stand-by.

Not at all. I'm not in this to criticise specific organisations, merely to provide funding for artistic endeavour. If you feel moved to make your poem about a specific organisation, however, that is permitted.
But, yes, please read the establishing email for rules on submissions and topic.

Just a reminder :- Poems have to be submitted by Evemail and actually be about the topic in order to count as submissions. Anyone can continue to noodle about in the thread, of course.

I have never led a group towards a cake trolley, as it's against regulations to help a fellow officer to dessert.

Back in the Mixed Metaphor days, Faust suggested we open up a material acquisition department, for which he'd do the recruiting. I told him to stop all such talk immediately - "Faust," I told him, "I won't have anyone in this corporation soliciting a miner."

A Traveler's Tale
Through the eyes of Uttindar and teardrops of Bei, traveled a watchman, stronger than May
By the gates of Colelie, through the nights of Deltole His eye was of water, his heart was of stone
They saw him in Aufay, they felt him in Balle They feared him in nightclubs, they cursed him in bars
The cry of Vylade, the beat of Dodixie It never did tamper, it never did stop
He was not to be trusted, said the people of Dod, he was not to be loved, said the voices of Comms.
He gained speed at Botane.
Through Sanctum and Verge, with Darkness he merged
He crashed through the Citadel, blasting the gates
Isoma was Null, Cold as the Void
Wasted by reason, abandoned by hope
His face was like winter, his mouth was like death,
his path had been blocked, his life had been set.
Negotiations were necessary.
Nourvukaiken said what Tunttaras felt, but that did not please him
Tunttaras refused the passage of time, Nourvukaiken could not tell him
Negotiations were canceled. Voices were Spiked
A Scourge fell on Ikuchi, and Inferno crossed into Kimotoro.
La Dolce Jita.
When our hero finally reached the fourth of the fourth, he felled the bombs
scorch was the shrapnels, void was concussion
There was fire, and burning Caldari
There were cameras, and camping canonadas
There was clamor, and kiting Ravens.
He turned 180.
The Nighthawks were climbing, the Eagles soared
The sky was full of Black Birds. His wing took fire. There was no speed.
He was webbed against the wall, his heart was impounded
He closed his eyes.
But under the dark wings of the Crows, a cyno was lit
Nyx was its name, Nyx was to answer
Griffins and Condors could not keep track, Harpies and Buzzards had to fall back
Blue battled Red, Red battled Blue Triage was imminent, the sky was compromised.
A blinking pod.
Our hero was scooped, his ship was destroyed The Admiral knocked on the hospital ward
I thought you had left me, I thought you did say, that retreat was an order, respecting people's borders
Forgive me, my son, said the Admiral blunt, whoever gave that order is a damn xxxxing xxxx.
Next time you fly, you wait for your friends, we'll never desert you, no need to despair
If you fall or you falter, we'll cover your back, if you cry or you lie, we'll forgive you, my son
Trust me. |

That was terrible. Well done.
