So EvE is taking an interesting new direction.
What are your opinions on it?
Personally, I am wanting more immersion more immersion and I thing Thera and the Shattered systems are a step in the right direction.
Why Can't I have a picture signature.
Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

Overall I would agree. They certainly seek to mix things up a bit. Still the big hinge point is going to be what they do to SOV (for a lot of players anyway).

Leaving Hisec to lag further behind the PvP content is not exactly a direction worth my sympathies.

Null isnt done, we can clearly see wh getting a boost, high sec might be down the line. There is work done on missions. With the new monthly releases things go quicker, where a few releases now is a few month instead of a few year. What would u like most for high sec if u could name a top 5 that woudl be wide accepted as, omg wow |

In no special order:
- Highsec capitals + PvE (PvE for capitals, capitals allowed for PvE only).
- More "old style" missions (say, start adding 100 for each level, and then throw in a few more twice a year. Even better: develop and release mission creation tools so players can develop and submit missions for CCP approval)
- New exploration content for battleships (with scaled up difficulty and rewards)
- All new PvE content reacts to player actions (who did what and where, affects to what may do him or others, thus making the availablity and difficulty of content somewhat unpredictable -say you kill Boss "A" then next mission features A's friends messing with your primary goal...)
- New "fail possible" missions: NPCs may just run away unless scrambled, or call in reinforcements and force the player to flee and thus fail the mission. More generally, NPCs should have a limited AI that reacted to player actions
- Sensible drones. They dock when in structure and learn to target ships of their class so no more Small drones jumping on BS while destroyers wax their asses... failing that, please give us a "primary: hull size" command and a "dock when in armor/structure" command

I'm glad they nerfed jump drives, it reinforces the roles of capitals (e.g. carriers shouldn't be freighters) and makes null bigger.
Next I hope they get rid of sovereignty. You shouldn't get to plant your flag in a system and say it's yours, you should have to actively patrol your territory to make sure nobody has snuck in. |

If only Sugar and CSM gave more love to lowsec.
Lowsec should be where all the moneymaking opportunities are, an SOVless space where risk is not zero.
It would go a long way in displacing people out of the safety of hisec, so that they can earn the money to survive in EVE.

This has to be either sarcasm or a troll. Lowsec is brimming with iskies that is way more fun for many than doing incursions. From Faction Warfare, to belt ratting for Mordus and Clone Soldiers, to running sites (DED, Unrated, Relic, etc.) the variety and isk is there if you want it. |

I am for more immersive content. pretty space, more shiney nebulae etc. I would be interested in seeing WH effects in k space. For instance you see on the map places where a black hole exists (thukker npc space area) why isnt there black hole effects there? OR like in wh space maybe a graphic in the space area showing where the black hole is at. I think an effect that that woudl really reshape how fighting goes in all space.

It would also help that stars looked real and they dimmed the farther you are from them. Each time your'e traversing 80 AU and the star is the same seen from every distance, EVE distances look fake, as if one "AU" was just a million kilometers. I don't recall that New Eden is supposed to be 1:150...

I think Apocrypha is a hard act to beat but what CCP have done with Phoebe and are planning with Rhea, it's not going to fall far short. Despite the recent CCP Explorer interview that says things will be released when ready, I'm disappointed that we're only getting one T3 destroyer in Rhea. I'd rather wait for all 4 which doesn't disadvantage any roleplayers or people who don't want to cross-train to Amarr.
All in all, I like this new direction, there seems to be additional learning curves introduced and this is what appeals to me as an older player. My only gripe is that, as a third party developer, it's getting more and more difficult to keep up with all the changes!

Thera will become a trade hub on a massive scale and provide a good option for a wormhole experience without the need for a POS.
Wormhole loot is valuable and i fear there could be station camps because it will be Jita without the rules, The system will be teaming with freighters where traders will try to make a fortune by giving people the means to operate there.
Also, policing the area would be fun. PVP without the fear of hot-drop will ensure there are some epic and tactical fights where only the best fleet commanders will be victorious.
I will be heading there myself.
Well done CCP, I am impressed.

Missions that are random. Random spawns, random surprise arrivals of other factions. Mission payouts to scale with number of players active inside the mission. The death of mission guides that give players all the answers. And for CCP to make the burner missions unpredictable and on a larger scale.
Oh, and a highsec wide invasion of sleepers. Sleepers on gates, at stations, in belts etc.
NPC skirmishes between the 4 main factions and the pirate factions at random locations around highsec. It'd be cool to be traveling and see Ammarian forces battling a Sansha fleet at a gate. Or passing through Gallente space and seeing Gallente NPCs fighting Serpentis in a system. For players to be able to take part in those random skirmishes. To be able to pick a side and influence the outcome.
Highsec needs more immersion of the PVE content.
And I want to see NPCs podding players too. Pirate faction gate camps. Stuff like that. |

None of the trade super hubs established by players was planned by CCP. Also you should ask Sugar Kyle about how easy is to set up a market in lowsec, let alone in a wormhole space where warping from station to station in a freighter will take in excess of 4 minutes and even a battleship could overtake it by a whole minute.
Pipedreams aside, security and trade are inversely proportional. You can't have your cake (cargo loads) and eat it (explode trade ships).
Now, if the stations had sentry guns... that would be a completely different matter.
(But, !!CCP!!)

I don't think Thera is the right direction. It's fake. A cheap, doctrined way to create something special in the EVE universe. No... this is a player driven world, this special snowflake system doesn't work for me.

Don't have five, and my ideas would be widely unpopular, but I think they would be good for the game. Like the jump fatigue is.
* The second tier NPC corps should be war-deccable according to my old proposal here.
* High sec should, like null-sec, be occupancy based. If activity in a system drops to a certain point, the empires withdraw protection and have an "austerity program" that drops the system rating toward lowsec. This means the empires would focus their limited resources on the highways and the occupied systems, and lowsec would be dynamic. Lowsec too should be occupancy based with the chance for groups to influence the sec rating of the system if they so want. It would mean that players would have to cooperate (or interfere) with each other to affect the status quo.

I think ccp has provided a way to have an easier experience in a wormhole, trust me I know POS is hard work these days and the thought of wormhole stations with all the services seems a very good idea.
If we follow the logic of how eve is played we know people will go out there to establish and earn, because of this traders will have some good opportunities. Trading will be risky in Thera and I know there will be frequent ganks.
I can accept that they didn't put owning stations in players hands. The story is that some npc's have managed to find a way to put stations in wormholes, I can accept that as the beginning of an epic story which could one day in a few years time result in players having the ability to own stations in wormhole space. Try to look at it as you creating your own story within the story ccp has created.
I could go on about Thera all night, This might even make me get my Hub Zero groove back on and try something. This is proper sc-fi, maybe all this survival crap I've been going on about will pay off.
I think the power is still in the hands of the player. I know there are some huge wormhole corps out there who may want to own it. Perhaps the creation of Thera will prompt epic wormhole wars.
