The Confessor is only in the Database. It is not yet seeded to the marked, nor is the Skill, so the question how you change Modes can-Št be answered yet |

I just looked on the testserver. The Skillrequirements for "Amarr Tactical Destroyer" is only "Amarr Destroyer V" |

I don't like it. It just seems cheap and gimmicky to me. I am looking forward to reading whatever mixed-up lore reason that lets these ships change modes on the fly. I expect it to be a steaming pile of fail trying to mask the fact that you just can't reconfigure a machine to do something else while it's still operating and the only way these could work is thanks to faery magic and pixie dust.
IMO all T3 ships should be crafted from subsystems just like the T3 cruisers. |

IMO all T3 ships should be crafted from subsystems just like the T3 cruisers. So introducing new ships with new mechanics is bad because of lore and realism? We are talking about spaceships that go faster than the speed of light and generate energy out of nothing. I think we can stop worrying about realism. However the McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II and the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey would like a word with you about re configuring a machine to do something else while it's still operating.
We have seen what subsystem based T3 ships are like. Horribly imbalanced abominations. I like this new direction CCP is going with the new T3 destroyers and I feel that it has a lot of potential.
At least fly them before you declare them to be terrible. |

so from the stats given in this pik
http://i.imgur.com/uvMgAQm.jpg
i have put the 3 modes of the confessor in EVEHQ.
i assumed that each mode was a ship on its own to make it work with the tool (IE made the mode bonus the ship role, same thing really).
the fit you see is rather basic and just to demonstrate the foreseeable stats. (no imps, no fleet bonus, no drugs)

First we'll need to see what materials are needed for reverse engineering and building. |

The big question is, will it outperform the Coercer as the Amarr bumping ship of choice?

The issue of skills is, while the subsystems for T3 cruisers are only 1x, those skills are specifically for that one ship. Following that line, I could see 2 or 3 new 1x skills in addition to a core 4x skill. Like with a T3, the ship could be flown at less than max in those skills, but has racial destroyer V as a pre-req. Since the racial Strat Cruiser is a rank below the T2 cruisers, I think 4x for the racial Strat Destroyer skill is adequate. It would seem out of place to make it 5x, the same as the racial Strat Cruiser skill. But it should either have a couple of it's own 1x subsystem skills, or require a couple V's in some other 2x skills that already exist.

The changing modes looks really cool. I think it's neat that the tech 3 ships don't have to be the same subsystem thing, just somehting different that can leave your opponent guessing. Not locking into something with subsystems just makes it nicer in my personal opinion.
I wonder if the ships will be visibly different based on the current mode, so people who really look at your ship will be able to determine what mode you're in?

Modes have some differences visually, like fins and sliders moving. Nothing huge. But if you're zoomed in, you can see it.
Mode switching can be done on the fly and has a 10 second cooldown. There are 3 buttons, one for each mode. While mode swapping is on cooldown, all 3 buttons go dark and have the new cooldown cycle visual. Mode switching on the fly in combat is seamless and effective. CCP has done a great job on this mechanic.
The bonuses aren't OP, because the ship doesn't get all of them at once. IMO, they're basically mini-AHACs. (mAHACs)?
The price of build materials looks to be about 30M based on what is on sisi right now. This ofc may vary depending on the market. No idea where the BPC/O will come from.
Also, and CCP hasn't mentioned this yet, but currently on sisi there is a new T3 component required in order to produce these. I'm assuming they will be available from the same NPCs as the other T3 component BPOs. Those require several hybrid polymers and salvaged materials to produce.
