This is my first time posting on this forum. So I am not sure how many of you will look at this. But for those who do, have you ever thought about how in real life you learn some things faster than others? Maybe you learn math really fast but your arn't so good at writing? Or maybe you can fix a car but you are bad at driving? Well what would you think about adding a system that exemplifies that to EVE? To where you could do a mini-game to see how adept you are at a type of skill and then modify your characters learning speed to match your results.
What I am talking about is all those days spent on long skills. The test would be optional but it could shave off wuite a bit of time. How much would be up to CCP but I would think at least a quarter would be sufficient. it would differ for people and you could take it again. Not right away but my train of thought leads me to believe that one month between tries would be best. that way you could study but the tests would have to change otherwise it would be to easy. The last score results will also modify the test as well.
I can't speak for everyone but I am the guy who is good at math but can barely write. I can fix a car but I can't drive. But I would be willing to test myself to shorten the learning times in this game for my character. I know there are areas I wouldn't try. But it isn't all about me. What do you, the people who have read this, think of the idea?
Sincerely, Jacob N. Fellow capsuleer |

We already have variable learning time.
Skill Ranks + Remaps + Learning Implants.
And tests. I'm not sure if you remember your schooling but people cheat on tests. How do you see this not happening in EVE?

It would be an an aptitude minigame style test and I agree people do cheat on tests all the time. However with subjects you can't look up answers two and constantly changing games, it would be harder, but not impossible to cheat. Your idea of variable is based off what you can buy and do. Not yourself. A little different in the concept. The cheating would be a problem to consider though. I will try to figure out an answer. |

And it should be your last. Worst "idea" ever. And we've seen a LOT of crappy ideas.

Is that a compliment? Also it wouldn't be that active. I am not saying you personally train every skill. it would just be another version of remapping you could choose to try in order to help some skill categories. Maybe 5 minutes per minigame.
Also if you guys would be willing can you move your replies to the new thread in the Features & Ideas Disussion area?

You seriously don't think someone would have all the answers to your stupid exam posted within a month? Also, who the hell wants to make EVE *more* like a second job you have to pay to work at?
This idea is bad and you should feel bad.

Thread has been moved to Features & Ideas Discussion. I am also cleaning it up of some personal attacks and all around non-constructive feedback.
On topic: some players enjoy Eve due to a sense of "escapism" compared to real life. That is, they can do stuff in Eve that they normally cannot IRL. That is enabled by Eve's "anyone can do anything" nature. Have you considered what effect including real-life aptitudes would have on this aspect of the Eve experience?

Oops, you created a thread in F&I already. Never mind. For those looking for it, it is here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5217422
