I think the office mechanics need a little change. I know the reason there are only a certain amount of office slots in NPC stations is due to trying to keep passive office renting at a low. Yet it still happens. People have unused offices all over the place. Offices can be used to help people manage R64s or other money moons in the system the office is in or perhaps was once a deployment area. It happens. But when say an alliance with more corps than there are offices in a particular station and you call it your home system, whether it be in low sec or NPC null, it's quite frustrating when your corp can't rent an office.
What I'm asking is that the Devs look into this matter and maybe attempt to rework the stations to allow for more offices.
Just a thought.

Much like slots went away for invention and manufacturing, they really should go away for offices too. It's pretty frustrating to join friends in a new system only to find a lack of office space waiting.

Also allow corps to remotely close it (might already be doable, but I haven't seen how yet) |

There is a way to do it. Go to your corp details then down to the offices tab then right click on an office you want to unrent and select the 'unrent' option.

Make more offices available for corporations with high standings to the station owner and/or reduce the office rent by a percentage amount proportionate to the standings.
Also make more offices available for high faction standing on top of that.

I think the limited office spaces determining rent is a good thing. It helps keep everyone from just sitting in Jita, and makes them go out to other systems. It helps spread players out, 'oh, there are no more offices in this station with these agents...guess we'll just have to go to the other agent's station...'
And there are PLENTY of offices that have manufacturing that the rent is dirt cheap btw. Just takes a bit of legwork to find them...nothing wrong with that in an MMO like eve. |

I don't mind the limited slots for offices and the competition (in the form of paying the higher rent) that comes with it. That rent is an ISK sink, and removing that wouldn't be a good idea.
However, if the office rent used the same (or similar) algorithm that manufacturing costs used (but per station rather than system?), then I wouldn't have a problem with unlimited offices in a station.

No there's nothing wrong with it. I'm not saying increase them in major trade hubs. I'm saying if you see there is a constant mass number of people from the same alliance in a system to allow that station to make more offices or something along the lines of that. When you need to be in a system to deploy from etc you need to have an offices. Especially for SRP payouts in corp or corp assets etc. Blows if you have to go 10 jumps out to find a station with offices.

I find the limited office space helps to push people from certain systems and adds value to others |

I would like to see an increased amount of offices made available.
Perhaps an incrimental system similar to Empire space, (but with the addition of standings as a variable,) could be employed in Null as well:
-10 = No Office -5 = No Office/Heavily Taxed Office (station owners choce) 0 = Unlimited number of offices, but the cost increases as more offices are opened. The station owner recieves a reduced income as well, as there is an exponential cost for maintaining the offices and keeping all the crew fed/boozed/drugged/sexed/oxygenated/housed eyc (lore ftw!) +5 = Limited number of discounted offices that are exempt from the usual price increases. +10 = Limited Number of Heavily Discounted/Free offices excempt from the usual price increases.

I don't really understand why offices have such a steep price climb anyways. You can move a corp from one station to another in the same system and the rent goes down by 50 million.
Just close off select stations like trade hubs and let people rent at a flat rate wherever they want. |
