I feel dumb for even having to open a thread on this.
I have been trying, and failing, to create a copy of a bookmarked location such that I can send it to another player as a contract item. According to Google, it's as easy as shift-dragging it out of the People & Places widget and dropping it on the hangar inventory window. This isn't working for me.
Did this get nerfed sometime recently? Are certain skills required? Are there other ways of sharing a location with others? (I know about corp locations, but setting up a player corp just for this purpose is really taking the long way around). |

Unless it has changed, you open up your locations where the bookmark is saved at. You click it and drag it over into your inventory and it will then disappear from your locations and will show up as a paper with a tab on it in your inventory. That is what you will use to send it to others via contract. You cannot make a copy of it. But what you can do is create another bookmark of the same location (so it really is a copy in a different way).
Hope that helps. |

Shift-dragged a BM to hangar floor and got a copy in form of a bookmark item just about 10s ago, so seems to work...

You have to click the bookmark first, then hold shift and then start to drag it otherwise it bugs out and doesn't work.
That's the issue I have in any case. |

Having messed with it more, I can get it to work now, but with difficulty. If I just click-hold, it expands into a navigation panel (same as when you click-hold a celestial in overview) and won't drag. It seems like I almost have to have the mouse already moving when I click in order to actually drag the thing. But I can do it more or less consistently now, and I also verified that holding shift does create a copy in hangar without removing the original from the P&P widget.
Seems like an interface bug to me. Anyway, thanks all. |

You may have a faulty mouse button, or worn / dirty button contact.
I remember once going nuts because my system was acting weird. When I finally realized it was the mouse and replaced it, everything started working.
I personally find a mouse tends to last about a year of gaming-use. I always keep a spare mouse around just in case. |
