So, I was talking with this quite amicable bloke who likes to run sigs in our space in a pair of sins and a legion. Turns out, it's almost impossible to catch the guy, because anything fast enough to catch him he can kill, and everything else is too slow. So, I suggested that we should just hot drop in right inside his sigs. Then he tells me that we can't actually do that, because cyno's are not allowed inside of sigs. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF NOISE IS THAT? I WANA HOTDROP A SIG, DAMN YOU!
Now, my case for this is that jumping has been sufficiently nerfed that it would be rather hard to randomly abuse all over the place, while making it actually possible to catch these kinds of guys without a 3000 person manhunt to get one guy and 2 alts.
Also, I really just want to drop supers in a sig. |

Set scan for .5 au, and now you get enough warning on just approaching hostile, complete with decloaking most cloaky ships, that you're almost safer than a POS.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

You would be safer cloaking at a safe spot.

What you want is of no sensible interest to anyone, go back to your station and grind ship spins. Cynos and capitals are not allowed in gated signatures for good reasons and it ought to stay this way.

No one could warp to your cyno before you warped off.

Ok, you guys make some fair points here. How, then, am I to hunt down and murder this guy who's playing in our space with impunity? |

Put some effort into it?
Besides: Your space? I was not aware that EXE owned Cloud Ring at all. The only constellation you use is around XZH, the rest is deserted space with a worn-out fake claim badge on it. I don't see any justification for your claim to be able to catch him easily as he is ratting in unclaimed space, not your space. |

it's their space because they SAY it's their space and are willing to hunt people out of it - not because they've got some bullshit sov badge
For posting an idea into F&I:
come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it.....
If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

Considering the effort he is probably going out of his way, skills, ships, fitting, and preparedness wise to avoid getting caught, not to mention doing his exploration in a region with less chance of a local blob, I think it's only fair that it should be a fair bit of effort to catch him.
The more effort and money and preparedness one party puts into a task, the more it should take out of another party to counteract that task. Catch him travelling, or log off a hictor with a meaty tank at the start gate to one of the sites he would want to run, then wait a jump out for him, provided he is online. If he kills whatever you tackle him with, tackle him with something harder to kill, and work on increases the speed on the rest of your gang getting in once the tackle is made. |

Set a trap for him - cloaked ships inside the first room of the complex. Pick something relatively easy, but juicy, like a 6/10. In the first room of a 6/10, you don't have to worry so much about the rats switching aggro onto you.
Send in one pilot who does not have to worry about the rats first. Do not kill any of the rats. Then send in the recons and at least one stealth bomber, move those ships away from the gate enough to cloak those ships up before the rats lock them. Then warp the first ship out. You now have a nice trap prepared, as long as you are patient. This would work best in a station system, but might work elsewhere depending on the target's greed/testicular fortitude.
When he comes in, the stealth bomber is there to get the initial point and scram - otherwise, he might escape while the others are working off the cloaking delay. A small gang of recon ships with stealth bombers for DPS should ruin his day really fast. A Pilgrim for the neuts, Rapier for the webs, Arazu with scram, and Falcon with appropriate racial jams just for the final dose of hate and discontent. Maybe a dictor so you can grab the pod, which is probably juicy. Once his active tank is out of cap, he should be toast.
Have additional pilots waiting nearby to bring more DPS after you get the initial tackle.

Considering this topic, they don't want to hunt, lay traps or put effort into driving people out of deserted space; they want to just remove them via easy-mode actions, and s/he even needed to be handed out the most basic and common hunting tactics here in this thread. My point still stands also because they don't use their space except for the mentioned constellation. |

This is a good idea but TBH it wouldn't work on me. I only run my sites in systems that are either empty or have maybe 1 or 2 pilots in them.

If it's "your" space, there's more than one of you. Send in someone as tackle, it should give you enough time before they die to get your Ishtars and Tengus on the field. If not, send in two for tackle.

you have a dude running sigs in space near where you live but don't want him there, you don't have the smarts or ability to actually catch him so you came to F&I to ask for the game to be changed to help you catch him?
