So I love the newly buffed blood raider ships. The Cruor especially is deadly in it's own weight class. I played in PYFA with it and came up with this. So far it's been effective. If a bit expensive. I'm looking for input.
[Cruor, Cruor] Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste Small Armor Repairer II Adaptive Nano Plating II Damage Control II
Warp Scrambler II Federation Navy Stasis Webifier 1MN Microwarpdrive II
Corpii A-Type Small Nosferatu Corpii A-Type Small Nosferatu Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Anti-Explosive Pump II Small Anti-Kinetic Pump II Small Auxiliary Nano Pump II
179 dps tank unheated. 82 dps from the pulses with Scorch. 25 dps from the single hobgoblin. 1min 21secs of cap with vamps running. 2.5km ms unheated.
Blinging the tank improves it massively. But it's really expensive. Thoughts?

Faction nano plates are cheep and so worth it, also you've pimped everything else so just scatch out a little more and get at least a C-type repper
This is my fit:
[Cruor, That pesky little frigate ] Heat Sink II Dark Blood Adaptive Nano Plating Corpii A-Type Small Armor Repairer Dark Blood Adaptive Nano Plating
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I Stasis Webifier II Warp Scrambler II
Corpii A-Type Small Nosferatu Corpii A-Type Small Nosferatu Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Small Anti-Explosive Pump I Small Auxiliary Nano Pump II Small Auxiliary Nano Pump II
Hobgoblin II x1
Im toying with using an AB for solo work... the 20km web would do wonders.... and free up room... i just dont know what for lol

This is my blingy fit. The tank is NO joke. 300dps heated. It's expensive though.
I was more looking for Thoughts on the fit rather than the bling.
Like what I can and can't engage. Counters to it. Ideas etc..... |

I prefer beams on the Cruor. Gives you the option to engage at the extent of your tackle range (<20km) or even farther if something is kiting way out, and will also out-dps pulses at edge of scram range (which, if you've pimped your nos, you should be as close as you'll ever get).
If you haven't flown an active tank Cruor before, and I know this sounds obvious, but just beware your tank is only going to be fed as long as your target has cap, which, frankly, should only be a couple of seconds. So anything with capless dps is a bad choice (unless it really needs cap for its own tank and you're confident you can burn through after neuting fast enough). |

So anything with capless dps is a bad choice (unless you can outrange/mitigate damage or it really needs cap for its own tank and you're confident you can burn through after neuting fast enough). If you really want to engage capless dps that you can't mitigate much, then you have to purposefully not cap your target out and only pulse nos enough to keep your tank running for a while.
I would use beams, but the dual rep fit I'm using doesn't have the grid for it. Same reason I'm running Dual Light pulses instead of focused.
I noticed the weakness to being cap starved when a corporate beat me with an AAR wolf. Cap starving the Cruor works in theory, but In practice, I'll just Warp away since your point and Web will be shut off from being capped out. So even with capless weapons I can still dictate the engagement and just disengage if it looks like I can't win. |

My fit is tight, true (even though it's single rep and afterburner fit).
Yeah, you can almost always just leave in a 1v1. One of the nice things about being totally dominant on the cap warfare side of things. |

I really want to like the Cruor but I don't, at least not for solo work. For strict 1v1s it can be OK but anything with capless dps might beat you even if you're bling fit and he isn't. The Cruor's dps is always anemic and nice as the web range bonus is the lack of nos range bonus means you need very expensive nos to not just be eaten alive by the first scram kiter you find since you are MWD fit their scram puts them at a massive advantage for range dictation since your basically has no effect on their mobility.
At no time do I see any 1v2 working out at all if any of the other pilots have any clue what they are doing, you just don't have the damage to burn anything down before they overwhelm your tank. Sure you can hold things out far away but you can't apply any damage to them at that distance unless you fit beams and you can't hold more than one target at range assuming you want to point anything.
The best use I've found for a Cruor is in frigate gangs as a webber, fit your prop mod two webs and with its 4 lows and decent grid it can tank well enough especially if you bring an Inquisitor or two. It vastly outperforms a Hyena in terms of survivability at the cost of some web range. That's where it really shines.
Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.
