The Zealot is in dire need of some tiny teaks, nothing major but something to make her as good as other HACs that can do pretty good on their own.
Capacitor recharge.
Fitting beam lasers on a Zealot can be done and beam lasers are a decent long range medium turret. The Zealot has a range bonus that helps with kiting at longer ranges.
Here is a pickle, while you can fit beam lasers and mwd around at decent speeds, you cannot press fire at any time or your shiney Zealot suddenly goes offline for the time it takes 2 or 3 ceptors can kill her.
Demands of Aurora and Gleam M crystals are too demanding for the sad capacitor to keep up.
Isn't so bad?
Maybe you even want a medium rep or two on your HAC to keep her on the field for a longer time.
The solutions could be either to give her better capacitor recharge or medium beam lasers become a little less demanding.

The zealot is fine. Use mega pulse w/scorch and a cap booster if you're still having cap issues. |

Yes I always wanted that Zealot to fit battleship turrets.
Anyhow, I was talking about beams on the Zealot not heavy pulses.

beams are in need of some attention for sure .. the zealot now has too compete with the Devoter aswell as the Nomen, so making it at least the best beam user of the 3 would help its usefulness
Tech 3's need to be multi role ships not cruiser hulls with battleship tank and insane resists
ABC's are clearly T2 in all but name.. remove drone assist mechanic.
Nerf web strength ..... Make the blaster eagle worth using please

I have said it before and I will say it again: Drones.
Drones, drones drones give it f*cking drones.
50/75, 25/40, whatever. Just give it a full flight of drones, for christ's sake.
After that, While I would support exchanging the cap usage bonus for a tracking buff and increasing cap regen to over that of the sacrilege, I don't view it as necessary as the Zealot is primarily designed as a fleet sniper (or at the very least, functions best as one). It just needs the ability to defend itself against small ships, which it very definitely cannot. |

Zealot looks fine to me. 600/450dps brawl/kite and 660dps tank (dual rep ancil-T2). Cap stable with booster.
25m3 / 50bay drones would be useful as mentioned

Zealot needs a 4th mid, more speed, agility, drone bay and a tracking bonus. It's kinda sad that CCP takes balance decisions based only on nullsec doctrines. Im pretty sure this changes would not influence a lot on a PVP bigger escale

It is not.. navy omen makes the zealot useless in the majorityof the cases. On the rest of the cases the sacriledge is better (when you need to brawl)

If I had to boost the Zealot, I'd move the turret capacitor use into the base capacitor recharge, replace that bonus with 7.5% tracking and reduce the mass somewhat to increase MWD speed and general agility.
Then it would be more effective in short range brawling with pulses, kiting and mobility in sniper duty.

I think that a change to base capacitors on amarr hulls with a turret capacitor reduction wouldn't be a bad thing. It's always seemed like such a wasted bonus to me. |

..and as soon as there is a thread about that problem of yours, you can tell us all about it.
This is about the Zealot being not okay with medium beam lasers and tech2 crystals.
