Dear Warfare and Tactics
I am saddened to tell you that Iron Oxide have dropped from the TLF. It has become apparent that we cannot hope to hold Huola and so we are bowing out from the fight. We may well come back to the TLF at some point but for now we will be going pirate. Friendly entities are invited to arrange blues.
Thanks to everyone we have fought alongside and well done to the Amarr. I hope you will appreciate that without tz presence after LNA left and the Periphery went we were kind of screwed. Added to which however we have faced a competent foe who has brought a few decent fights along the way. No bitterness on our side there.
We're pretty tired right now and will be looking to spend time with our families during this difficult period. I hope you will respect our privacy on this matter.
Much love
David Devant

It's a shame to see Fe0 leave as well, sincere apologies if us leaving hastened that :(
FW was a great run for the last 5 years, but the meta has been changing slowly all the while and frig-on-frig PvP didn't secure strategic objectives, at least not for RIFT. I fondly recall to noob recruits a time when BS brawls on gates were "a thing" in FW low-sec. A time when hotdropping wasn't prevalent and we could actually use our own capitals. Needless to say, hotdropping, especially in this warzone, among other things, really reduced things to just frig-on-frig.
Looking to bring back some of the old fun :)

On behalf of Imperial Outlaws. I hereby accept the surrender of Iron Oxide.
Please contact Shalee Lianne to arrange reparation payments for the damage you've done in your struggle for "freedom", preferably paid in slaves.
I want to take the moment to ask Ice Fire Warriors, The Periphery and the Minmatar Militia to consider an official surrender post as well, just so we can get the paperwork done.

Tier 1 s/b 100% Tier 4 s/b no more than 140% Agreed. It is good that members of militias with the current upperhand make posts like this. I feel the same way sitting in the presently on top Galmil. The FW tier system needs some more tweaking.
That and more attention has to be paid to faction ship balancing again. I'm sure the desire to supply the NApoc demand is helping the Amarr militia attract farmers with the in-game tier 4 benefit as it is.
CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting-áoff button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

That's a bit disingenuous on all counts to be fair and I can only speak personally but orbiting a button 23/7 isn't fun, nor are grindfests in T1 frigs that rinse/repeat.
I'll shortly be publishing a novel who's main protagonist is a London-based "consulting detective" whose powers of logical reasoning would deduce from your statement that; you're disappointed that you've been deprived of your type of fun. @Bienator - Sorry! We had big bout of soul searching as Kourmonen crumbled. But it was apparent to us that even if we could muster a decent response in our peak hours we were leaving about 20 hours of uncontested plexing. As it is we can't get more than 20 active pilots in a fleet on a week night so even that point is moot. It is literally only our alliance who are left to defend the system with a couple of helping hands whereas the Amarr have a reasonable coalition and Death by Design on standby. We'll still try and kill you wherever possible if that makes you feel any better? |

David,
Sad to see your team has decided to depart from FW. Glad that our Amarrian allies are beating up the Minmatar.
Templis went through the same thing Iron Oxide. did, even as far back as when Innia fell for good leading all the way up to the Gallente sweep of the WZ. Being on such a serious end of a beating is rough, demoralizing, and makes you wonder why you're even paying to play this game. I would encourage you to stay with a militia, and redeploy to a new region. This has worked for Templis, it was slow, hard work but combined with aggressive recruitment and unbelievable commitment from our vets we've made gains. We retreated from Innia and Black Rise to open up a new front, and it was probably the best move we've made. Although some of our regular enemies don't see us much any more, we have new ones we hate just as much <3.
If you do want to be a part of a militia still, and you want to occasionally use something besides frigates (apparently, some people do - weird) then I'd suggest you come out to Hasmijaala. Accept the LP from the State, wage war on the Gallente and fight beside Templis. |

Accept the LP from the State, wage war on the Gallente and fight beside Templis. The other option, of course, is to join the Glorious Gallente - we who stood by you in your hour of need. Besides, we're the ones fielding BS fleets to try and take on Snuffbox and other high end lowsec groups. That's a much better match if you're looking to do something bigger and better than T1 frigate grindfests.
You've already got the standings, you already know we've got your back - and our LP beats the hell out of State Protectorate chits!

I believe not a lack of wanting to. But rather some bored Super pilots from various 'entities' who drop their Aeons and such onto anything larger than four T1 cruisers.
So wasn't anything between the Militias or their desires, but rather third parties that lowered the meta.

1st and foremost, im a newbie ok? so my views maybe limited.
imho, the effects of Phoebe is pretty much felt in the FW/lowsec space alot. i feel, most of lowsec/FW corps (or atleast my corp) are not too much concerned of a nullsec hot-drop, although it's still pretty much a possibility. local pirates are now exerting much more effort to dominate the region and are fielding more firepower than usual. heck because of these developments, my corp. are kicking up a notch and have a go to train above cruisers to defend our space.
so yeah, BS brawls might be more common in the future, in fact GalMil had already 2 major fights with Snuff with more than just cruisers in the field.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, all I can say is that i'm pleased and saddened that it sounds like the Minmatar have finally realized what the rest of us struggled with since Inferno. I'm pleased because it sounds like you guys realize that game mechanics are game mechanics and it wasn't simply a case of Minmatar having superior dedication to the cause. The FW that you've just recently accepted is the one that the Amarr have had to deal with since the beginning. Trust me, your frustrations are things that we struggled against and had to build everything up from scratch.
That being said i'm sad that you guys have fully decided to accept the reality of FW. Long ago when I was an active FW advocate, I was always clear that it was a sad day when ANYONE left FW, enemy or ally. It frustrated me to no end when people would smacktalk and act like the other side was leaving because their militia was too awesome. That hasn't changed and it still makes me sad seeing groups, especially old guard leave FW as it will always hold a special place in my heart. Despite the level of frustration and futility we were all still able to motivate militia friends into fun campaigns and BOTH sides enjoyed great clashes, yet sometimes things just get stale and you can only force narrative for so long. Those were some of my fondest moments in EVE and I am grateful that we had a strong enemy to fight against. Best of luck to whatever you guys decide to do.
