hey guys,
I have been thinking about some things eve need/can use, so here we go:
1, a high slot module to counter cloacking. gives a particle blast disrupting cloacking effect from everything in a 15 km radius, decloacks all ships, if used in hisec it will NOT trigger a concord respsonse. because it does not do any damage.
the use:
low/nullsec data relic running, decloacks all those within 15km who try and trap you with cov op ships. highsec gate camping cloacky falcon counter wormhole entrance/exit cleaning. many more uses.
all stats can be changed ofcourse, maybe some ships can get a bonus to cycle time or range etc etc.
2, capital energy neut/leech
can only be slotted on a capital, and only used against a capital, makes capacitor control more important, and now capitals are slightly more vulnerable after being bridged/cyno'd, it might make some nice fights
3, give strip miners and normal mining turrets a small, non boostable amount of thermal damage. "drilling" generatess heat, heat = thermal. this gives a miner the choice, am i gonna keep mining, or do i use it on the attacker in null/low/high sec gank. it does not have to be much damage, but just something to augment the drones.
4, a new line of battleships/battlecruisers.
now here comes the fun part. right now the only RR capable ship is the nestor, which is, a mess. most ships are damage focused in the bs/bc catagory, and logi is mostly limited to cruiser sized ships.
my idea is to make a bs or bc hull, with only 3 highslots, this for remote cap, or rep. give this ship extra midslots for remote tracking, remote sensor boosts, or give it extra slots for sensor damps/tracking damps. this creates a support ship, with a decent tank, but no damage.
example: Calibra
gallante Bs bonus per level: 5% to sensor dampning effect. ,5% to remote armor repair amount Minmater BS bonus per level: 5% to tracking disruption effect, 5% to remote capacitor transfer amount
role bonus:
125% bonus to remote armor repair and capacitor transfer range.
GÇó Slot layout: 3 H, 7 M, 7 L, 0 turrets, 0 launchers GÇó Fittings: 1400 PWG, 440 CPU GÇó Defense (shields / shield recharge time (s) / armor / hull) : 3500 / 1800s / 8500 / 5750 GÇó Capacitor (amount / recharge rate / cap per second): 3500 / 800 s / 4.0 s GÇó Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 170 / 0.60 / 12500000 / 9.0 s GÇó Drones (bandwidth / bay): 50 / 200 GÇó Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 70km / 270 / 7 GÇó Sensor strength: 19 Magnetometric GÇó Signature radius: 280
this is just an example, if its better to drop the second BS skill in favor of a new heavy logi skill then thats fine with me.
let me know what you guys think of the ideas i listed above, ofcourse they are not perfect, but thats why i ask you to look.

you forgot about the dominix rr domi balls were a thing once untill people started using proper logi more often also the marauders can RR too with their empty high slots... infact alot of bs are capable of making rr balls. The anti-cloaking high slot thing just isn't going to happen and as for thermal damage from mining lasers just no. |

still those domi balls lack the RR projection because they lack a range bonus, sure it is possible, but i'm more looking towards a battleship that cant do any damage, nut is a major pain in the bumms. like the example i give.
the mining lasers doing heat damage is more of a nice gimmick then really usefull.
also, whats wrong with the clacking highslot i came up with? for a long time people have been complaining that cloacking can not be counterd, well, with this that argument is invalid.

what people moan about is afk cloaking in a system which isn't a problem since if someone is afk they can't hurt you. If someone is active and cloaked then they can only catch you if you're at something that can be warped to without the use of probes (if they use probes you'll see them coming). People just want things to be nice and safe and be able to do stuff without having to bother to protect themselves which is why 1 afk person cloaked up can stop a system full of people from doing any pve activity when they'd be more than able to warp to each other and help if one person was attacked |

1) No. This has been discussed ad infinitum.
2) Erm.... Maybe, although numbers would need to be figured out to balance it properly.
3) Simply put, no. They have drones for damage.
4) No point. All BSs can remote rep already. BS spider tanking has been used to great effect in the past. There really is no more need for additional logistics role ships. |

I'll bite for 1....
if you lack the instalock to catch a BR or bomber in empire, what good is the decloak? Even low sec or 0.0 camps sans bubbles don't have high hopes of catching BR's if they don't attempt instalock with some effort. And rarely if at all have I seen the signs of a decent instalock in empire.
Besides that for non co cloak fitting ships mwd pulse to cloak not a common tactic in empire. Want to catch non-co cloak cloakies drone guard a bump inty/other fast agile ship to dredge the gate area. It should have a decent chance of success...its not like the average empire based players practices this often.
Or if they pull it off...well hope your inty pilot gets better at dredging really. I say this as a player who started 0.0 long ago as low sp whose job was this for a bit. Sometimes you bump em, sometimes you don't. Gatecamp != 100% guaranteed kills. Some players don't go deer in the headlights and diaf. Accept and move on. |

I would be ok with an anti-cloak module so long as it was limited to 1 ship type. I've thought about how they might redesign T1 destroyers to be more than just high-sec suicide gankers, and I think the answer is making them anti-cloaking ships with smartbomb bonuses (also making them viable anti-drone boats and firewallers in a fleet). Real destroyers hunt submarines, EVE destroyers hunt cloaked ships. |

1. no. 2. Perhaps. Not a capital guy. 3. no. 4. Dont need one. T2 logi already uses large reppers with long range and are very powerful. Then there are carriers. Logi is one thing we need less of. This coming from a logi pilot.
