Utility Transport Drones. That is, drones that carry your stuff around in between solar systems when you are too busy to do so yourself. I envision the little guys might carry 15m3 or so and travel in an autopilot fashion, have the HP of a Cruiser and can be cargo-scanned and attacked but whomever is attacking will receive a suspect flag in the same way attacking mobile structures in highsec will. They can only be sent from current station and there is a limit to the number a pilot can have active at a time. Perhaps 1 per level.
Just imagine these things buzzing this way and that transporting everyone's goods.
And best of all, when I'm done with my Estamel's modified ballistic controls after a hard day of lvl IV's, I can ship them off to jita in orderly fashion. |

Too small to be useful carrying anything in bulk, too flimsy and killable to transport anything valuable in, takes developer time to implement, not useful for honestly anything I can possible think of. other than transporting nearly worthless stuff like ammo to a mission alt because you forgot to bring enough. And that's the least ringing endorsement for an idea I have ever heard.

If it could carry contracts or market orders, you could make a killing. Just imagine, someone sitting in Jita, a practical warehouse of everything available, could send out drones within a 15 jump radius. They would drop it at the front of the station in a little container and you could come out and get it instead of having to wait days for a hauler to get around to your location and pay marked up prices for hauling fees. |

Apparently you don't fly spaceships. Those of us who do sometimes forget a needed module. Just imagine having a buddy send you one so you don't have to fly 10 jumps. Are they going to be at the core of a thriving business? Maybe not but extremely handy they would be. |

There are currently no objects besides players that can transfer between systems. You are proposing a new class of autonomous operating drones that couriers stuff around, has to physically warp, travel to gates, jump, etc, all the stuff about being tracked at all times, to and from the destination. Loaded and unloaded off and onto seperate system nodes.
Needless to say, this would be a considerable undertaking as far as dev development time.
All because you can't remember to fit your ship before you leave station and are unwilling to go back for the missing bit?

On a side note, it would be cool if these were an on-grid kinda thing that let you move ammo or cap charges across the field (or POS) to a fleeted or targeted ship. (So they would work with both Attack and Assist commands) More than that, imagine getting held ransom until you cargo drone your stuff to your captors. ha! |

That's called "suffering the consequences of your own mistakes and lack of concentration". It should teach you that you better pay more attention the next time you do a logistics run.
Besides of that: Where should I use them? In Low and Null sec they would fall victim to an increased number of smartbomb and instalocker camps. In High sec, they would die in 99% of the cases to the already proliferous Thrashers on the gates. Henceforth: What's the point of a drone that cannot go to Low sec, let alone Null sec, and is easily shot down in High sec, causing me even more trouble than the previously forgotten module that I could have transported to my home easier in a ceptor? |

Actually I think they would stand a better chance in nulsec than in highsec. Pilots would frequently use these to send corpmates simple modules and the like. I also think that they would result in a great deal of pvp in highsec as shooting at them would be almost as fun as stealing eggs from your best friends easter basket. |

First point: Wrong on so many levels that I will only pick 2: You want to remove even more players from space in Null sec and remove even more risk when players travel? Second point: It would certainly be not more fun, as there is no pod involved. Moreover, how is shooting an unmanned, unpiloted drone PVP? Unless the owner of the drone flies alongside the drone and protects it, which then begs the question why s/he didn't fly the module to the destination on their own in the first place. |

You're possibly unable to think anymore. There is at least one use case I can think of. Sending stuff around space with some skillbook involvement is a good idea ^_^. Make those self-floating npc ships worth something. It doesn't have to be drones. It may just be able to use station service-sort of thing when good relationship with the station is maintained. So those ships carry your little stuff around.

unless this thing is faster than an intercepter it'll be totally useless if you forget something you fly to where it is in your pod/a shuttle grab the mod you need and fly back and you don't wait 15 mins for a drone to arrive that's on autopilot that will get blown up anyway since all you get is a suspect timer and not a concord response |

The only thing I can see these being useful for is newbie griefers. hop into a velator/freeship and just start popping stuff.
great for the new player, but not worth dev time.
Lets spin it another way: you just forgot your module, and contract yourself a super speedy delivery drone. Said drone lands on a gate and dies. the drone is cheap, the module is cheap, you repeat, and so does the griefer.
Thats not very entertaining.
You forgot your module, and have to go back through all those gates, and go AP all the way. Gatemonkeys blow you up because you're missing that one module and are therefore "not tanked properly," and everyone around is entertained by the explosion, wreck, and corpse, and the hopefully ensuing rant and bad idea on F&I.
As someone above said, pay the consequences of not paying attention, and leave a killmail. |

i wouldnt say a drone perhaps, but there are npc convoys that do leave stations, both of which can be easily destroyed wish would being n a new wave of piracy as people will kill more of the convoys and get something better then garbage or some other base trade item.
