I need to raise my standing with Gallente from -1.0, what is the fastest way? Should I just do an epic arc? |

This may not be the fastest way but just as a side note on this Sisters of Eve give a pretty good derived standing increase for Gallente and Minmatar without barely scratching Caldari and Amarr. Also the SoE LP usually have a pretty good isk / LP ratio. So if you are going to be mission running anyway and want to avoid creating problems with Caldari / Amarr then SoE might be a better way to go.
According to this chart: http://www.newedenlibrary.net/eon/faction_standings.shtml If I am reading that correctly a storyline which gives you a 10% increase with SoE faction will give an 8% increase with Gallente and a 4% increase with Minmatar and a -1% decrease with Amarr and a -0.25% decrease with Caldari.
The way that standings work is it is a percentage of the distance you are from perfect which is 10 so if you are -1 that distance is 11 so 8% of 11 is 0.88 standing increase in one storyline. SoE also has that level 1 epic arc that is doable once a quarter I think. Also I've gotten level 4 storylines that have given me 30% increase in one mission with the 80% derived you'd get a 24% increase in that one mission or 2.64 Gallente standing increase for that one mission.
Hope that's helpful. |

Great stuff thanks.
I only need to get to a point where i can jump on over with the corp I'm looking to join who are based in Gallente space. Should hopefully be able to tag along on the L4 missions after that.
Looks like I should just do the SoE line, I have diplomacy etc so shouldn't take long to bump me up. |

Uhm. You already can.
A. -1.0 has NO impact at all on you.
* From -2.0 or lower you can no longer run any agents other then level 1. * From -5.0 or lower Faction police will hunt you.
-1.0 is nothing and do not worry about it too much. Bit of mission running with your corp and it should be fixed soon (as long as you do your own storylines as you can't profit from shared storylines).
B. -1.0 is easily negated with some social skills.

Nice. So you mean i will get no standing from a fleet hand in of a lvl 4 (that is someone elses mission)? |

So you mean i will get no standing from a fleet hand in of a lvl 4 (that is someone elses mission)? - there are faction standings (such as caldari state, amarr empire etc.) and corporation standings (caldari navy, chemal tech etc.). - to be able to run lvl4 missions for a specific corporation, you need either faction standings above 5.0 or corporation standings above 5.0 and faction standings above -2.0. - corporation standing gains for completing missions can be shared. - faction standing gains cannot be shared. - in any case, you need standings above -2.0 with the specific lvl4 agent or he won't talk to you in the first place. this becomes relevant when you chain-decline missions.
I should buy an Ishtar.

Normal missions you can share the standing increase, but that is an increase in corp standings, not faction standings.
Storymissions are needed for faction standings, and those standings can NOT be shared with a fleet.

That chart is incorrect.
A couple of years ago Thukker Tribe had their status upgraded to minor Faction thus giving them positive standing with Minmatar Republic and vice versa. Also for the past 6 1/2 years I've been playing this game, Thukker Tribe has never had positive standing with Pirate Factions.
This chart shows the correct standings - http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Standings#Standing_Relationships
The 'In-Game Inter-Faction Relationships' graph (Top chart) is read from the top down and the 'Derived Inter-Faction Standing Modifier' graph (Bottom chart) is read from left to right.
