I think I just had a cool idea. I was thinking of a cerebral socket that you can install and remove. This socket can be purchased and manufactured. The idea is a new player starts with a cerebral socket that has all 10 implant sockets but the implants aren't removable. Perhaps have the default cerebral socket have only 5 sockets, so after your 1st death you need to purchase the starter cerebral socket again. You can purchase an improved cerebral socket that has varying amounts of implant sockets. Ie: slots 1-5 or just slot 6. There are a large variety of options that could be implemented. The implants can then be removed or installed but the cerebral socket must be replaced. This would all be adjusted by the meta level of the socket. Components for manufacture could be found from the new ghost or sleeper sites, or even harvested from corpses. Ideas?

Nooooooooo!
An idea that helps terrify new players from ever leaving highsec by permanently removing some of their capability upon first pod death?

No please. It doesn't really add a lot of additional gameplay especially for newer players. It's a tax essentially without much gain. If you want a slot 6 implant you have to buy a socket that includes slot 6. Not very helpful. |

Everything you want OP comes with the creation of a Jump Clone... or two... or three... or five. Simply train the skill and find a system full of stations.
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective.

Okay, first it was a basic premise more than anything so keep the 10 slots as default. I don't know how many new players use the 6-10 slots though.
You can't swap implants in the same station so this would create that opportunity. For a fraction (no idea how large/small would be needed) of the cost of a full pirate set you could swap your implants in the same station. Base the meta level on implant rank so a 5 slot +1% learning skill cerebral socket would cost 1m but a 5 slot +5% learning skill socket costs 50m. A pirate socket could cost 25m for a 1% set and a full set could be 100m.
Adds a lot more options and it doesn't introduce a lot of issues, that I can think of. You could reduce prices to make it a more disposal choice so they could be hot swapped or increase the price so that there is a larger choice to be had. |

This is not a good suggestion. Check out the Estel Arador corp for easy jump clone service.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

CCP has advanced informorph for even more jc's over plain infomorph.
Added a skill to reduce jc timers for convenience too.
Use them, you should have most combo's covered these days. I in 0.0 with the int/mem clone, perc/will clone, some purpose built hardwire clone, and even the empire skill inject clone was well covered under plain ole infomorph psychology tbh. I even learned to accept and just deal with the 24 hour timer (was actually 25 actual to be nitpicky iirc).
