And then what? These Jita and Amarr Depot spammers can scoop their junk and place it again, and people have to RF it again and wait 2 days again? No!
Mobile Depots were allowed in High sec and anywhere under the premise that the players need to keep watch on their own over their space garbage. If they don't do it within 2 days (which is among the longest reinforcement timers in EVE), they simply say they don't need their stuff. It also means that you cannot have hundreds of Depots in hundreds of places, because you can't watch all of these; instead, you are required to place them with some previous thought and consideration.

No. It is not CCP's responsibility to keep track of your **** for you. If you can't be bothered to check your depot in two days, then you obviously didn't need it anymore. Before you whine about, "but what if I can't play for a few days," you have the ability to scoop it up. You can't lose a depot that isn't deployed.

Posts numbered 3,4 & 5 explain this perfectly. And the timer should be far shorter than is currently is. Even 24 hours is too long.

I'm curious if anyone knows the official reason why CCP decided it needed to be as long as it is? As is pointed out above, the reinforcement timer is quite long. Why does it need to be any longer than say, 1 hour?

If I had to guess, it might be something to do with discouraging the camping of mobile depots post fight when the attackers know with relative certainty that the "phat loots" are in the depot because they were not on a km. Many people will not willingly camp a depot for 48hrs. That's my guess.

This does not explain the 48 hour reinforcement timer, and I too, am curious why such a long timer. I have a habit of scanning down depots, reffing them, then forgetting they are there after two days.

By your logic there would be no need for any notifications at all.
