Marmite, Public enemy, Autopilot engage and forsaken Asylum carebear alliance found!
In an attempt of an hostile takeover on a highsec island in placid reagion from public enemy, they installed their pet alliance 925 (nine.to.five.) with over 45 pocos on the island.
Apparently the locals didnt like it and wardecked their pet alliance 925 and reffed 10 pocos in a 30 man fleet. Next day, Marmite, public enemy, autopilot engage and forsaken asylum joins the war and is swarming the island.
So guys, ever wanted to hurt the biggest carebears and risk avers groups in the game? Placid island is now a thunderdome where u can come and shoot all the griefer alliances!! even lowsec standing people can join camping the pipes to kill their supplies, fun for the whole family!! |

Sometimes who you know is better than what you know in scratching an itch you cannot reach!
I doubt you hurt anything apart from the poco's. |

It is entirely common for POCO owners to contract multiple Merc groups to defend their stuff.
Although several of those involved parties have been engaged in POCO shenanigans before. |

Confirming FA, along with other carebears got hired to defend these POCO. Looks like the (npc corp) OP is butthurt as they don't have the numbers anymore for their own hostile takeover, yes. It was so easy at first, industrialists with POCOs...
Mmmm, I see a new trend taking place in the future, where Hisec agressors will ask Low and Nulsec corps and alliances to gang up and fight their wars for them.
It is not hard to have them do it, just tell them they are secretely owned by someoene they are at war with!!!
Pray, please, pretty please. all nulsec alliances wardec that 925 corp, so we can assist and get a crapload of free wars and winow down all the bads in Hisec.
Thank you.

Well all I can say is that I'm slightly dissapointed with what I thought would have lead to some good fights in the high sec pocket tonight.......has ended with neutral logi alts of the merc's flooding the area, thus making actual forming up, well.....pointless.
I've never fired a shot in anger in high sec before (low sec's more my kinda thing) so I was quite looking forward to joining the war, something a bit different you know? Also hearing that these guys like to fly shiney stuff meant I may get to dust off the t3's I've been collecting and actually use them for once. I wasnt able to make fleet in the early part of the evening due to GF aggro, however upon logging in and speaking with some of the other corps involved, I was told of the tactic used and how basically everyone logged off due to being bored s@@@less as not being able to get the expected fight over the poco' coming out of rf.
Now I know people will be thinkng "they've been hired to defend the POCO's and they've done just that', which of course is true. However what I'd like to know is, is this what's deemed content for merc's these days? I mean I genuinely I don't know.....for me it's log in, fleet up if possible, fly around and shoot at stuff, if I lose a shop I'm kinda meh.....if I dont and get some kill mails then awesome sauce. However flooding the area with neutral alts in logi (which we can't shoot at due to the dec rules) means that we won't fight (who would) so well....nothing happens. Slow clap for content for yourselves as well as us.
This isn't a weine or tears thread as I've actually learned something today about high sec war dec tactics, so in all honesty I tip my hat to these guys. However, I think we could have something here ( it's certainly getting a lot of interest from other corps/alliances) and it may escalate into something bigger. Therefore please dudes, keep the alts logged off tomorrow night and let's go at it toe to toe, you never know, you might actually like pvp' ing like the rest of us

POCOs - driving conflict, as intended.
We had the same thing happen to us when we tried quarterheartedly to seize some POCOs recently. We chose not to escalate further - this time.
The defender has a huge advantage in highsec wars where both sides are willing to fight, and these defenders used their advantage sensibly.

i will avoid coulerful language, but the statment is pretty true (the one above me). a full report will be typed up after the whole ordeal is over, but atm ican confirm that almost all pocos have been removed from 925 hands, both 925 and public enemy has lost corps/members and there's been minimal opposition since the station fight where public enemy's allies (empire control) lost 3 of their 4 guardians, we lost 2 thorax's.

I really wouldn't hire these guys to defend POCO's, they didn't turn up to a single timer. We fought them once off a station, they lost some guards, haven't seen them since.
I was looking forward to some decent fights, however what everyone told me was true. They'll only fight if they outnumber you or are willing to hang around the jita undock.
So there clients have lost around 5bill's worth of POCO's, say around another bill of assorted ships and also whatever these mercs charged for the contract. Value for money right there.

just to clear some stuff up:
marmite was mention as they quickly hopped on the bandwagon of assisting in the defence of 925, with that said, marmite never showed up.
On the other hand, public enemy, forsaken asylum and autopilot engage was ALSO mentiond in the post/thread, though for some reason ppl only noticed "marmite".
So yes, marmite not here, but we'v been talking about public enemy/autopilot engage, forsaken asylum and empire controll. hope that cleared some stuff up.

Never said you had any POCO's, in fact I never even mentioned you or your alliance. However as a mercenary alliance who joined the war on the side of the alliance who hired other merc's, it kinda looks like they've paid you to join? Or why else would you join the war?

However as a mercenary alliance who joined the war on the side of the alliance who hired other merc's, it kinda looks like they've paid you to join? Or why else would you join the war? Mercs gets hired to join and assist in wars VS other mercs, griefers or just other corp/alliances that want to take over stuff or drive other people out of business or off an area, or revenge, or whatever.
That's the basics of mercenary work.
Now, mercs also spend most of their ISK to delare 'fun' wars to provide content to keep members interested and logged in, as more often than not, Contract wardecs often ends up with WT players not undocking, playing at all or plainly leaving corp for duration of the war, which makes thing really boring for the merc groups, thus the 'fun' wars.
Joining corps at war is another way to get 'fun' and free wars, doesn't mean we, as mercs, are going to show up at timers or boring blue-balling if we are not specifically paid for it.
Maybe this will clear up some things.
