I remember one time having poor faction standing with Gallente and the navy police would come after me and shoot at me while in their territory but I was always afraid to fire back . So what does happen if a pilot shoots back at navy police under poor standing circumstances? Do the navy police ships have bounty or loot? Will they just send more ships until you are dead? |

Best way to figure that one out might be to take a cheap ship and try it out.

Haven't done it myself but I remember Ralph saying in a different thread that they do drop tags, but you should only do it if you have no regard for your standings. Sit at a regional gate on a faction border and shoot them, when your tank starts failing jump through to safe space. Pretty sure he said Marauder with Bastion mode is kind of a requirement for proper farming. I'm sure he'll be along at some point to confirm.

People used to camp them and farm them on certain gates like crazy. Making so many wrecks on a gate that you would get lag jumping into system helping them kill any other faction players thatd jump into system like m0o used to do in mara in the good old days. Its not an exploit because theyre actively shooting things.
So they are quite killable, most ppl used BSs from what I saw passing through but Im no expert.
Strength isnt measured in numbers but in force of will. For if one motived willful individual stands many will fall around him that are weak.

Very interesting. This makes me want to get my standing back down with Gallente so I can go try this out. |

You can definitely kill the Faction Police NPCs... but they respawn in the same amount of time it took them to spawn in the first place. And they do hurt. A lot. Not just in terms of DPS... but Ewar effects too.
Bottom line... don't engage them unless you have a very clear plan with a very tanky ship and are right next to a station.
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective.

Except you are engaging the Faction Navy instead of the Police (Navy deal less damage and Ewar effects).
You know I've been thinking about faction warfare for awhile. It certainly would be challenging learning something very different than nulsec warfare.

Take a look into Singularity (affectionately known as SISI), the EVE test server. You can find out how to connect to it at the SISI wiki page, https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity
The test server is an incredible resource for being able to try things out that you would normally never be able to on the main server (Tranquility, or TQ), as well as things that you just don't want to risk your main character for.
Nearly every item is seeded in specific NPC stations for 100 ISK, including all ships except for supercapitals (Titans and Super Carriers) and a few very special ships (such as the Guardian-Vexor). This means you can easily commit some pretty fun insurance fraud, should you find yourself short on ISK, by purchasing a Battleship for 100 ISK, insuring it, and then self-destructing it for a quick ~200m additional ISK in your pocket, which will probably be more than you'll ever actually need on the test server.
Never be afraid to hop on there and try something you would find risky on the main server, just make sure you read the rules regarding the test server (especially those governing PvP), all of which are available on the above-linked EVE wiki page.

- drunken FCs and "colorful" personalities... there are just more of them in a smaller environment
- blobbing... but with frigates
- structure timers and grinding... but with complexes and iHUBs
Plus... you get all the other cool extras of low-sec life including, but not limited to...
- inability to secure a system. Why? No bubbles. No way to lock out pirates and neutrals. You want people out... you have to kill them. Repeatedly.
- no more afk-cloaking! Because there is no point. Because at any given time half the system is out to kill you anyways (even if it appears friendly). Meaning you have to be ready for PvP at all times.
- more people. More traffic. And all of them want to carve their name into your pod.
- easier logistics to high-sec
- you can actually tell your leaders to "get stuffed" and nothing too bad will happen to you. Because they can't lock you out of the station and/or bubble you in. In many ways... you are potentially as free an agent as the "others" you kill.
- NO BUBBLES!!! GIT DEM IMPLATS AN FLAA LIK A BAWSS!!

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it.

Actually, not much. They continue to shoot and hit you with cap drain, webs, whatever meany stuff we all use. Only theirs is much worse. You last as long as the strength of your ship. If you stay long enough you're blown up. Your standing with that faction goes down and you zoom away in your pod with that feeling ... "Somehow I have to put a good spin on losing this ship...so I can seem cool."
There have been corps in-the-red from null who have en masse "gone shopping" in high sec. They've taken out the jumpgate guards (including the billboards which are armed as well). They can tank those things and hit them with dps with freighters filing through the gates. So, I imagine for fleets of that strength, the cops aren't much of a problem.
Why? Haven't you tried this...YET? (<---- for those who've done "EVERYTHING" in EVE already.)
Gankers are sociopaths who would rather use their time-in-place advantage to jump and one-shot a noob than fight straight-up someone who poses a challenge to them. If you need to call a ganker a "person," have at it. He is what he is.
