Picked the game back up for a free 10 day retrial. Loved the new content so i decided to give it a try.
My first problem arose when i tried to purchase a month and found that my bank would not allow international purchases and so was forced to buy plex at 20 bucks. Not CCP's fault.
So i chose to reinvest my choices into PI. It was a passive income that would allow me to have a steady stream of very low maintenance income. After learning the absurd tax rates in High sec and investing 20 million of my now dwindled ISK i was shocked at how hard it would be to make this work in high sec. So i started to search for a corp in low/null sec.
After moving 44 jumps down and getting a 100 million contribution i started off working for the corp selling my PI for Amarr Fuel Blocks for our POS. At this time i had no clue but spent many hours looking at youtube guides.
PI allowed for little fun for me so i wanted to get into some PVP. Well right off the bat i learned that i was going to be at a huge drawback not having a single one tech 2 or higher frigate, cruiser or bs. Not only that flying anything higher than a tech 1 cruiser was going to cost me 50million isk, which my income currently could not fullfill. Soooooo i had to get a steady stream of income into the game to finance my ultimate goal of PVP. I started training mining up thinking this would work. Got frustrated when i got scammed by the marginal trading. Then got suicided gank withing 5minutes of my new coverts 50million ship. I was beyond furious. I was in high sec mining ice and withing a few minutes was dead. All my investment into making an income gone. Frustrated i asked my corps to help and i got a new supply of ISK. T Then i tried gas mining. 5 dead ventures later and out anohter 30 million and getting scammed on contracts.. I about just give up. This game is extremely fun only to a point. New players have huge, overwelming disadvantages in this game. And it is very aggravating for me to pick up another month. Any suggestions.

Eve isk/hr scales extremely well with your knowledge and understanding. By constantly jumping around every time something fails, you never gain the knowledge needed to actually excel at something. As a simple example, I am 95% certain you were high sec mining in a covetor or retriever. if you were in a semidecently fit procurer, you would not have been ganked. Now a committed miner would have looked up what he could do to avoid ganks after dying and figured this out. Instead you gave up and moved onto something else.
The same applies for scams. Someone who gets scammed can give up and switch to another activity, or they could look on the Eve Uni wiki for a comprehensive list of scams so they are prepared next time.
As for corp fleets, your corp should have some form of SRP to reimburse ships lost in PvP. Otherwise, you should probably go for a different corp.
Oh, and to answer your original question, you can earn 40m isk per hour in a T1 frigate doing faction warfare plexes. it also gives you the opportunity to learn a bit about PvP. |

Here is my question as a player just over a week old.
How on earth are you piloting ships that cost 50mil?
Im losing ventures that cost 1mil equipped (under I think) and punishers that cost under 2mil....corp supplies those for free but ive managed to make enough to cover myself via faction warfare novice capture points as well as mining on a second account I snagged.
I mean with progression in the skill system comes the ability to make more isk which covers the increased cost....right?
Start farming stuff in cheaper ships and stop losing them (part of my assumption is that you are the eve equivalent of a blonde chick running around with tons of jewelry on and a big expensive purse at 2am in harlem screaming on your iphone how the atm would only let you withdrawal $300)
Don't lose what you cant afford....if your making a few million isk per hour try flying a ship that costs under 2mil, even if its not as efficient....nothings less efficient then losing a 50M isk ship while your racking in a few million isk per hour.... |

Mr Epeen wrote:Find a new corp. Yours sucks at teaching you even the most basic parts of the game. Mr Epeen Pretty much this. There are corporations out there that will flat-out buy you battlecruisers for pvp, as long as you're willing to actually do it.
Your primary concern right now should be to find a non-bear corporation, but one that's not purely focused on pvp either (the good ones won't take you anyway, yet). There are always tasks required by older players that rookies are perfect for (eg: bring this item to me here, I'll give you 5m), on top of your normal, solo pve activities. For solo pve, I would recommend exploration.
I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

new players start off with missions in high sec, ratting (shooting npc pirates) in null, or exploration.
Exploration with a noob ship (heron) you can pull in several hundred mil per night. In a semi-decent astero you can pull in a billion per night.
Today I pulled in 5bn in blueprints from 1 hour of exploration - but i know where to look and what to do - and i got lucky.

Go run highsec missions. Do the tutorials and SOE Arc. Get a rupture for L2s...quickly upgrade to L3s in a Hurricane...and then get a Maelstrom and find some people to do L4s with. Alternatively invest a couple of plex for a decently fit Machariel and rip through L4s. Then, once comfortable, go for incursions. ISK problem solved. |

SpaceSaint wrote:New players have huge, overwelming disadvantages in this game. EVE is a competitive game.
If you want to 'win', someone else has to 'lose'. Or in other words, you have to be better than the (average of the) other players to make decent ISK at anything. Or take more risks (this is easier actually, well over half of EVE's population is extremely risk-averse).
There is no significant disadvantage for new players: . If you want a chunk of ISK to get you started, just buy a PLEX (it's not necessary, though) . SP-wise, 2-3 months of focussed training in whatever you want will get you close enough to the vets to be able to have fun in whatever you like to do
The real advantage some players have over others is:
. Knowledge . Skill . Friends
For example, you were asking about faction warfare. I can tell you it's excellent ISK and fun (and cheap) pew pew even for a new player. How to do it you ask? Easy:
. Knowledge: about 2 hours of internet research will teach you the basics . Skill: 4 hours/week for a month will give you a decent foundation to build upon . Friends: join a FW corp and be nice to people
If you're willing to do the above, a month from now you'll be fine, I promise.
