Greetings Valkyrie fans !
I'm doing this little post to annonce that i'm currently working on a small unreal engine 4 demo for the rift, where the player have the opportunity to visit the inside of an algos as a non-capsuleer.
Basically, you're a salvager who find an lonely badly-damaged algos in the deep space ( maybe the capsuleer eject himself before doom) and you have to explore the ship, repair some stuff to get it moving and set an interface to be able to make it warp without a pod connected to the ship.
I chose the algos because of this : Algos blueprint .
So, i've already started to work on the demo, and before i keep going i am wondering if you CCP guys were OK with me making a short ( free, obviously) demo based on your game. Also, i'm not an artist ( at all) and i don't know if you agree to let me using some of your textures and models to get me going and match the EvE universe.
Anyway, i'm really excited about this. It would be my second rift demo, and i always wanted to feel the scale of EvE ships from the inside. If you have idea or want to help me working on that stuff, don't hesitate to join me on this !

You should contact community reps to get you in touch with legal about this.. You cannot release something using our assets without permission.
But besides that I'm looking forward to see what you'll do! :)

The inside of the ship should have been what captains quarters were from the start.
You leave your pod and enter your captains quarters on board your ship. You can then explore the ship and visit different sections and interact with some of the crew.
These crew members could then request your attention and assistance with the ships core functions.
eg: The ships chief engineer says he is attempting to push the reactor to 105% for a limited time and wants your help. You agree and are presented with a mini game to increase the reactor powergrid output by upto 5%. If successful you would then have a 5% pg buff for say 3 hours on this ship only.
Other systems could be anything on the ship. Like the CPU, targeting systems, capacitors, engines etc etc. All having their own mini game to play to increase your ships performance for a limited time. |

I thought that as long he doesn't charge money, he can do what ever he wants if he created the graphics/codes. US laws, Canadian laws and European laws protect him.

CCP still have a right to protect their intellectual property as well - they haven't flatly denied him the right to do so (at least on the forums, it could be another tale in private), but its always better to ask permission from the company that hold the rights first before steaming off ahead and then when you're just about to release it, get shot down by the IP holding company (GW are infamous for doing this)

See, that idea is the kind of thing that gets you screamed down by the "Veteran Forum Users" who will declare you an apostate that wants to turn EVE into Elite or Star Citizen and ruin it completely all because you're selfish and won't play the game the way they think is the right way.
Personally, I think that sounds cool, and would have been a really neat addition to just having social areas in stations, but the neckbeard crowd will never let it happen.

An excellent example of why pod killmails are the best feature to be implemented in EVE Online since warping at zero.

Well, that's how I've thought Incarna should have been from when it was launched which was well before I had even heard of Star Citizen (I only learned of that project about 4 months ago).
But I do understand that people will see it as "another reason" not to undock. But, you would accomplish nothing other than achieving getting your ships capabilities maxed out even though that will do nothing unless you undock.

Omg, no. Well, at least not as a capsuleer, as a civilian vessel or something - yes. Disconnecting yourself from the capsule while inside of your ship would essentially render it non-functional. |
