I did all of the career agent missions, they were very boring.
I thought joining a corp would be a good idea, but it was just way too confusing going to nullsec.
72hr account, id just like to have a start point on where i can go to do things.
Im just so confused |

Well, what sort if thing are you looking to do? There's so many that it's hard to give you a generic answer to "do things fast".
Essentially what the career agents were trying to show you, "there's a lot if different things to do and here's how to do some of the main ones".

Perfectly normal.
Start with the SOE epic quest - That will get you some needed isk and a handful of ships to mess around with.

You're in good company, brother.
Nearly all of us had that moment of, 'What the **** do I do now?". That's one of the things that makes this game so captivating, in my opinion. CCP gives you the tools and sets you free. No hand holding. No predefined order of progression. And definitely no amusement park rides.
This **** is real!
It's up to you to make your own way in EVE. So think back to the tutorials and decide if any of it appealed to you. If yes, then you have a starting point. If no, join a corp and see what they have to offer. Or attempt to do every COSMOS mission. Or head into null and cloak up to annoy people. If you can think it, you can do it in this game.
It's up to you to find your own niche.

Check out this guide on finding a corp. Yeah it can be overwhelming, but there's no reason you have to get it right on the first shot. Talk to people...make friends...join a corp. If it's not right for you then leave it and try somewhere else. Many people enjoy solo activities in EVE, but very few enjoy playing without any friends whatsoever.

Unless you know alot about the game .. and or have a good real life / online friend in an null sec corp who can do all the heavy lifting for you in terms of logistics as well as game info wise - then 72hrs is not usually enough to make going to null sec a good idea.
First few weeks should be spent learning the basics in highsec .. do the Sisters of Eve Epic Arc .. highly recomend it as a good place to start. Sorta holds your hand a bit, but by the end of it you should be comfortable with moving around the game world, with looking up info on the how, what, why, who, when of it all, on how to do baisc pve fights, how to buy and sell, how to get new ships, how to fit said ships, how to use ammo + drones etc.. it also will take you to many of the different regions in high sec .. so you lose any inhibitions to moving around the EvE universe.
If after the SOE arc you still find yourself saying "now what"... and literally have no idea what to do .. then ask again. But really after a few weeks of playing / talking / posting / watching vids / reading blogs / chatting in Help etc.. you should have a good idea about what you "can" do in game .. and hopefuly one of the things will attract you to check it out more.
If not then maybe EvE isnt the right fit ... its not for everyone - which is a good thing.
Anyhow Welcome and try and enjoy the ride. - it is a game after all.
History is the study of change.

I read the title, "No idea what I'm doing", and thought it was just like me after over 5 years.
New players often feel lost, or bored, because they are not used to a sandbox. In EVE, you have to either make your own content, or go looking for content that others have made. Both are a lot easier to do with the help of friends in a corp.
Example: I recently read a Reddit post of 6 day player in BRAVE that was so excited because he got onto supercapital killmails, even though he was only in a simple frigate, and did get blown-up. He reported being irreversibly addicted to EVE.

train up t2 small guns. Join a wormhole corp that lives in a wolf ryate. Make mad space bucks and show off to all your friends your billions of isk while they grind lvl 3s for a week
No seriously, start giving lots of different things a try and start looking at ROLES you want to give a go. Like lasers, and want to pew-pew? Train towards Amaar Heavy Assault Cruisers. Like repping up your buddies? Train up logistic frigates like the inquisitor then move on to t2 logis. Want to make mad space bucks with missions? Make a long skill plan towards a marauder.
The biggest thing in eve is to keep giving yourself a goal to reach towards. There is not 'right' way to enjoy eve, only 'your' way. Get some research in on different things you can do and go out and give them a try. |

I haven't given out a ton of newbie advice, but none of these replies seem very structured to me. So, hopefully I can give you a bit of an actual answer.
Eve is a big place, but at the start I would like to simply it for you and divide it into two separate categories.
1. PvP 2. Getting rich
Be aware that is a huge simplification. And there are plenty of roles like diplomat or logistics in which you neither get to get rich or shoot people. Don't ask me why people do those.
For your first few months, I would pick ONE of those, and focus on it. Eventually most people will have a little of column A and a little of column B (and sometimes neither), but Eve is IMO too large to throw all of that at a person at once.
Once you've made your choice, you basically cut half of the game out of what you're learning from the start. Doing PvP? Who cares how to manufacture stuff. Getting rich? You won't have to learn how to fit a ship for the next few months.
That's my advice. Once you've made that initial choice, there are a myriad of options available, but you'll probably want to get acquainted with as many as possible, and it gives you a direction of what kind of people to get to know. |

Okay.
2 things.
A. EVE is a sandbox. It doesnt provide you with content. You have to make your own content. So do what ever you want, if you want to be led by your hand to content, there are other games doing that very good, but EVE aint on that list.
B. You spent a whole 2 hours in SBOON. Sorry, but from both of this I kind of get the feeling you expect EVE to be easy, fast paced, instant gratification.
Heads up, it isnt. Sure, getting to nullseec might take more then a couple of minutes but effort is rewarded. With anything in EVE, the more effort you put into something, the more you get out of it.

This is a slow methodical game. It's also a social game; solo PVP is pretty difficult to do, because most of your targets won't stay solo, they'll bring friends.
If you don't want to "come up with content" (make up your own fun), then your only other option is to join a player corporation and let them organize ops and fights for you and the other members. The trick, though, is to find a decent corp. that matches what you kinda feel like doing. Sounds like going to 0.0 wasn't it for right now; it may be your goal in the future, though.
This game is not a FPS / shooter. You have to find a way to make money, you have to manage your ships and gear, the skills that unlock new ships train slowly, and enemies you make will hold a grudge for a long time. This is a politics and drama, slow roast and vengeance game.

Solo PvP = You are solo, there is no garantuee your enemy will also be alone.

I am working my way though the training missions. It's slow going with reams of text to read, but getting there. Not even thought about what to do after I finish here, so these tips are useful. |
