first time ever posting a forum so bare with me.
Regarding the price on the multiple character training.
In my opinion since we are already paying for the account itself and can only use one character at a time, I think the price for MCT should be reduced greatly. Especially for people who have multiple account and want to use MCT. Having to pay the price for two accounts when you only have one to play with seems a bit extreme. (again, especially when you already pay for multiple accounts) the price in my opinion should be $5 per MCT. That price could be fixed so no matter how many months you buy, its still $5. That of course to ccp may be a bit extremely low compared to the current price. When you look at it from my point of view (6 accounts) its still a money maker. If the price was lowered im sure a lot more would sell. |

The fact that you can stop paying for MCT and still have access to that character gives MCT a value different but not necessarily unequal to a second account. They're great for industry, trade, and hauling alts, for example; once trained to the level you want, you can stop MCT and continue using their skills.
So, I'm not convinced that MCT should get a discount. And I speak as someone who MCTs 66% of my characters. |

Exactly this.
If it worked the way you suggest, CCP would lose money on the deal. Suppose it worked your way. I could train 3 characters on one account for six months at $25/month ($150), then pay an extra PLEX per second and third character ($40) to transfer them to new accounts and play all three characters now for $190 invested. Or I could have paid $270 to train all three on separate accounts for that time period. You do the math: which one benefits CCP the most?

If you would like a discount on MCT, it would actually be cheaper to start a second EVE account rather than start a character on an existing account. Then you get the benefit of being able to run both accounts at the same time if needed. However, as stated above, if you decide to stop skill training on your alt, you will still have to pay the subscription fee for both accounts.
There's pros and cons to each way. |

ccp would lose to much money cause character farmers would use MCT if it where discounted to reduce the cost of training up dozens of char's to sell on the bazaar. having it the same price is fair as your paying to improve the char anyway you look at it specially since u can train it to do passive things that make you isk while it's not even loged in. |

This is true as well. I could train PI alts very cheaply and make more semi-passive income fairly cheaply.

Then there is the fact that MCT is not truly necessary to play the game. It is what is referred to as a luxury, and as such, carries a luxury price tag.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

MCT is a niche product. It does not replace the use and flexibility of a second account, so therefore it's price is set upon it's niche nature.
It's use IS cheaper, when limited to 2/3 month training of an alt. Just how it was designed to operate.
So no, it should not be cheaper. It's price is exactly right for the option it provides.

gonna say this.
It is a nice convenience feature I tbh never saw coming. I jaded as I am thought ccp liked that extra money from character transfer fee when purpose built alts done and transferred to main main account.
Rest of this will also agree to what Mag's said. Used for quick train alts is where the value to this. Its a nice priced option for this as no transfer fees for a say freighter alt when done. Nice setup, I did this under the much older scheme. So old for char transfer there was no plex for transfer option. It was go to the management site and spend real money for the transfer.
If alt is more long term a train, making an added account and reaping the bene's of that should be an option to consider.

I don't think ideas should be approved or disparaged based upon how money CCP is going to make from them.
However to completely ignore my last point for a moment, even looking at it from the point of view of CCPs bank account a discount or occasional sale on duel character training could make them more money in the long run. I know I'd train stuff on my other characters more often if it was cheaper and I doubt I'm alone in that. |

They get that 15 a month now anyway. If a player wants the alt they will make it.
that and ccp has to weigh cheap thrill kill alts grand scheme. For a future burn jita or hulkaggedon ccp has to consider the real possibility of gank alt creation. I know I'd rather these cost the full price of sub vice a discount rate. Not a save the carebear type per se but....if you care enough to want to teach the carebear a lesson well then care enough to pay full price for it or grind up the isk to plex the fun. |
