Can we get a crew compliment number when we show info on an active ship? It doesn't really affect anything gameplay-wise, but it helps those who like to RP their characters.
I have a buddy that considers his character a "philanthropist". He has a PI installation on his "home planet" to provide jobs for his community, and he only flies frigates as he considers it irresponsible to put the lives of so many mortals at risk just on the whims of mentally unstable capsuleers. Having crew compliment numbers would matter to him.
I have another friend who considers his character a "harbinger of the new age" with the goal of imprisoning or killing as many mortals as possible to "cleanse" the galaxy and bring upon a new era of mankind where everyone is an immortal capsuleer. Crew compliments matter to him as well.
It's a relatively small change that doesn't affect game balance, but provides additional RP story points for those of us who partake. There's already lore about approximate crew sizes, maximum occupancy, and culture aboard different types of ships, so there's already source material for this change.
It's just a simple calculation of:
Crew Compliment = Math.Floor(Ship type modifier * race modifier * capsuleer modifier * RNG(.9, 1.1))
All of the information can be found here, but for basic guidelines:
Race modifier: Galente: ~0.8 Amarr: ~1 Caldari: ~1.1 Minmatar: ~1.2
Capsuleer modifier: Capsuleer-piloted: ~0.53 NPC-piloted: 1 |

Or your friend can just make it up like he does the rest of his RP reliant scourge on the galaxy shtick.
I for once would prefer crew = 0. I far prefer the idea of being some robotic demigod in some command of my ship without pesky meatsacks running around pulling levers.
So no thanks. -1. |

Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective.
