"... i want to smell dark matter... to feel the warmth of supernova ripple across my skin..." - Unknown
With a supernova centered in the bulk of their space and the visibility of their star gates recently limited to a few systems, one can only question if the maority of Jovian society has fallen into ruin? The Society of Conscious Thought, Genolution, or others have not commented openly or publicly nor are they likely to do so.
Is it possible that the Jove have simply done away with star gates? Cyano and Jump-Linked towers are a possible reason for the lack of jump gates but do now allow for the free flow of industrial and commercial traffic that a jump gate presents.
Are the Jove under some kind of direct threat, that warrants quarantine within so many light-years? While their society is under the strain of the Jovian Disease, such a sudden collapse would not go unnoticed. The Jove, in addition to technological links, have financial links, as well as (albeit limited), social links within the rest of the cluster.
Many of us owe the Jove a debt of gratitude for allowing us to experience the stars in a way not before possible. As a capsulier intimately absorbed into the sensory apparatus of a ship, I do often enjoy the scent of dark matter as I fly through a nebula. If we there is anything we could do to alleviate the Jovian's current dilemma, personally, I wouldn't mind helping, even if were in some small way. |

After many years of accumulating the tiny fragments of knowledge the empires possess on the Jove, I have come to only one conclusion in which I place any degree of certainty:
We do not possess anywhere near enough knowledge to make any conclusions about the Jove.
We scarcely have enough to hypothesize. Almost everything we think we know about them could be a carefully constructed lie. I mean, for example, I was thinking about something the other day - how many among the empires have actually seen a sufferer of the Jovian Disease? Since the number of outsiders who have ever visited Jove space can probably be counted on the fingers of one hand, we have only their word for almost anything that goes on in their territory. Who knows if what we think of as "Jove space" is actually the entirety of their territory, or a fragmentary province of a much larger empire? Or alternatively, what if they are merely a local enclave of a much larger and decentralised collective?
If the Jovians are in distress, they have told us so little of themselves that I doubt we could provide much useful help even if we could get to them.

Personally, I would say no, they aren't.
why? you may ask. well, the answer is simple. Someone turned off those stargates.
I doubt it was the empires. Given their lust for new technologies. |

How do you know there's even any of them left to tell us about whatever's happening their end?

Fact is, we don't know. They had gone full isolationist for quite a while and nobody knows about whatever they are doing now. Last thing we do know is that they are suffering from the Jovian Disease, a genetic disorder they accidentally introduced into their genome, and are dying from it. Other than that, who knows? They might still be alive, there might all be dead, and we won't know unless we somehow reactivated their stargate systems and find out, or they send us a transmission. Neither is happening and probably won't be happening for the next decade or two. For now, we can only speculate.

This speculation is just silly to be honest. We can claim whatever we want really but factually speaking we don't even know if those Stargate are actually gone. Let alone the Joves have been destroyed.
I mean have any of you seen the Jove space Stargate? No probably not. And it's less likely you've seen them recently and NOT seen them even more recently where they should be.
I'm more inclined to believe the Jove have decided to hide their stargates from our monitors. Which raises far more interesting questions, if I'm being honest.

I did look a bit closer and the supernova was precisesly East of the Jovian Empire. While the supernova was not directly in Jovian Space, and it would be wrong to directly link the two events without more information.
As the Jove stargate network is effectively gone, the supernova occuring in what is known as Polaris (no gate network) space, it is hard to not link the two events.
In a similar thread, twenty thousand years ago, was not the Eve Gate itself the source of Gate-Network collapse within the New Eden galaxy? It has been observed that the recent celestial event may be a similar event but on a much smaller scale with the event affecting only Jovian space due to the said event's area of effect. I understand in regions closer in, there has been increased wormhole activity in regions such as, Paragon Falls or the Kalevala Expanse (Drone space). |

The Jove gave the cluster the Capsule which you use with great regularity. I suspect they are plotting terrible things to your body and whichever fleet you signed up in.

Be on your guard. Trust me the Amarr are born expert on evil and insidiousness.
Funny thing is how they label anyone who bloodies their lip evil and insidious.
I guess the slavery cult admiral is still smarting from the butt kicking the Jove applied to an entire Amarr fleet.
As the saying goes "the arc of history bends towards justice", that is something all amoral slavery cultist fear and try to stay on guard against. Just as they failed after hundreds of years to break the will of the Matari people to be free and worship the one true God, they will fail at keeping justice from having her day as well.

Maybe the Jove have locked themselves away from the rest of New Eden because of what they have done.. Us.. The Capsuleers are the greatest and strongest of our races, of humanity, we are the elite, we are demigods, but where there is good, there must be evil, there are Capsuleers who have dedicated their lives to destroying New Eden, to killing innocents, burning planets, and these Capsuleers are immortal just like the ones who support their races navies, just like the ones that work for the Sisters of EVE, just like the ones dedicated to hauling, we are the cause for such evil, and we were given life through the Jove, maybe this is why they have left, why they have distanced themselves, they may be disgraced, or they may be finding away to destroy us..
Maybe it is the Sleepers..
But the truth is, we do not know, we can think and theorise all year long, but we will never know, the Jove have, since the beginning been secretive, there must be a reason for that, but it is beyond our grasp, and will be until the Jove see fit to tell us, and when they do, i fear it will not bode well for us at all..
On the who makes the Capsuls and the technology, it was given to the Caldari Mega Corporation the Ishukone Corporation first, they made the first of the Capsuleers from the Jove tech, then other Corporations and races received the tech as i am led to believe.. |

It may be that the Jove, in their wisdom, predicted the winds of change blowing over New Eden.
Whilst the wind, currently, is no more than a mild zephyr, clues are there that point to a positive hurricane bearing down upon us.
Batten down the hatches, secure your families, prepare for the coming storm, we should follow their example, or it will be we who become extinct in the days to come, and the Jove emerge blinking into the sunlight after the devestation and carnage, and inherit the empty spaceways.
There is one EvE. Many people. Many lifestyles. WE are EvE
