Using alts and alt accounts is big part of EVE. Sometimes people have knowledge or they suspect that someone is someone elses alt. Then they share this information in chat. Alts also confuse corporation recruitment making it hard stuff.
I propose that each capsuleer would have sub window in their info window where you can place vote if you suspect that someone is someone elses alt. This window shows the most voted suspects at top of screen and at bottom of screen are the less voted suspected links. This would create healthy paranoidic atmosphere to EVE. This would be additional tool to corporation recruiters when they try to determine who to trust. All voters names are visible in voting interface so there would be no anonymous voting. There would be Skill Point limit for all voting capsuleers to avoid alt spamming votes.
Comments are welcome for my idea.

It's already reasonably easy to do this in some circumstances using out of game sources. For instances checking a players KB history will give you a good clue as to whether someone is using a falcon alt, or if they like to camp a system, by looking at their playtimes, KB history, or character bazaar you might discover that they have a booster alt.
The idea sounds useful enough, but I don't think that it would be an easy one to implement, and I don't think that many players would utilize it correctly, leading to something akin to the bounty system now. |

Confirming Elo is a Mittanit alt.
Also no thanks, you vastly overestimate the willingness for people to publicly share information.
People will tag people as random players alts, troll connect people (Elo/Mittani/Vince threesome for sure) and the like.
Intel is a part of the game, if you have it, don't share it with your enemies. Maybe share it with your friends.
Also imo, a poor use of developer time, especially when the code/UI guys need to have their nose to the grindstone of POS/Deployables rework. |

It's already easy to catch people by born date. also post history, as in the time of day they are active. It's based on the simple fact that people need to sleep. There's a very clear overlap of characters that are not controlled by the same person. However, when they are the same person, you won't find any overlap for months, years, ever. If it's the same person, it's rock-solid.
I'm holding on to a couple high-profile alts, to out them when they say something particularly annoying.

a corp tool to flag known alts might be useful. a few times I've forgotten who's alt belongs to who. But beyond that... this is not needed, or can be done oog

Not needed and would be used mostly for trolling. This would quickly turn into the Eve version of "I'm Spartacus."
As for recruiting, once you have someone's API, it is trivially easy to identify their alts, unless they were disciplined enough to never send their alts ISK, put up contracts to them, use them to kill someone at the same time, etc.
Even without that, just taking a look at when players are active, watch listing them, and seeing if/when they all log in at about the same time works very well.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

We are all Spartacus at heart.
But a corp only tool would be kind of cool. When there's 30 people online but only 8-9 actual people and everyone is talking on whatever screen they happen to have open atm, stuff get's confusing in a hurry.
Or even just one that's client side so I can tag people portraits with background colors to highlight all the bajillion and one alts of a certain person. |

Yes, I think it would be very cool if you could edit your contacts' names, so it would say something like this:
Mnesarete (FT Diomedes)
I nominated someone's alt for a corp award the other day, because for the life of me I could not figure out who the alt belonged to.

Why not just disclose all alts under the local subnet through API? |
