Theres thousands of posts about pirates and pirate corps but what about active pirate hunters?
I dont get a kick out of killing noobs or killing people who are unabale to defend themselves in anyway so I want to devote my Eve time to eradicating the people who do.
I understand that Pirate hunting is alot harder than noob killing I have been on a few anti pirate opps with some guys I met, they usaly involve the pirates simply docking or logging off from larger forces and killing smaller forces.
To be ohnest I dont care if I have to spend hours camping a station or gate it just makes any kills you do get all the more satisfiying.
So who are some the best anti pirate guys out there?

There are some low sec regions that have a kind of locale milita against pirates, I cant think of the regions atm..sorry.
I dont think there are any real anti-pirate corps to be honest...but then again I dont play that type of game.

There are quite many anti-piracy corps about. What some see as local militia corps are just that... They just don't patrol entire regions or have the kind of manpower that CELES does.
Reason I'm posting with my alt is that I don't want to draw any possibly unearned attention to my corporation. We are a anti-piracy corp, but if noone considers us among the best there is no reason for us to be mentioned here.

It's true that it would be hard to call us anti pirates now as we dont actively look for pirate camps (if we see a pirate we ofc shoot them) but the problem is if you have say 40 guys its very hard to keep them interested in hunting people who have no need to actually fight and who usually go safe when a celes member enters local ( excluding 1 or 2 corps maybe).
So to prevent celes dying out we took a step forward and evolved into shooting the bad guys of eve Bob and friends. We still dont shoot neutrals but we mainly live in 0.0 fighting the evil alliances.
Gl hunting pirates but you'll be dissapointed in the long run

"Anti-pirate" is really just an excuse for pvp.
I think any long term player recognises that pirates are not evil griefers (by and large) and just shoot them because they can.
The MC will actively hunt pirates when they are bored (and judging from their killboard at the moment they are pretty bored ). The same can be said for a lot of individuals and small groups, they hunt when they have the opportunity or are bored.
I don't think theres any group of full time "anti-pirates" that I would take seriously. Lots of people have it in their corp bios but really it just consists of 20 useless carebears shouting "pirate!!1!!!!" in local, blobbing the holy jesus out of a gate and smacktalking when the pirate refuses to fight 37 faction battleships, 12 tacklers and a carrier in his thorax.

Well i agree and disagree! My corp does it for the pvp AND because we are are a roleplaying corp the LONG term goal of hunting down all pirates (ok that might take a few weeks) But we defently dosent do it for the fun of it. Mostly we do it because we are sick and tired of the carebear pirates that set up camps and really hate risks. At ANY sign of risk they turn and run and it takes a lot of time and effort to pod them, which ofcause make the whole hunt that more interesting.
But also what i really hate about the pirates are their utter lack of goals in eve, apart from make life hard for other pilots and when people say "ohh look they are not evil" well no no offcause not, just because you can kill people/pilots makes it right and good to do so? Its just a living you say, its not personal?
I think that most persons in their right frame of mind will take it really personal if you try to kill them and take from them, what they have worked so hard to get.
So when you say that there is no full time anti pirates groups out there that really really wants to hunt down all pirates they meet and go hunting for them , i think .. no .. i know that you are wrong! (if you are taking us serius is another matter )
A last work of advice when we come in 37 faction battleships, 12 tacklers and a carrier ffs stay and fight like a man (coward in his thorax ) It would make our work so much faster!
yes its an alt, no i havent talked to my CEO about starting a few wars sorry

back in the first few months of EVE when u killed a pirate it was an amazing thing to do.. it took work and organisation and hunting pirates was fun.
nowadays the kill does not justify the effort... if the boys dont destroy 50 ships in one day i get mad , would we get that sort of PVP action against pirates?, nope.
an anti-pirate corp needs to keep its members interested in PVP.. thats just not possible today..
as for us, we are stronger than ever and can field 30 BS fleets and have 107 members, maybe u dont hear much about us as im alot less forum active .. the biggest challenge in EVE is fighting BOB, so thats what we now do. you can keep up to date on us by watching the BOB killboards.

The CVA and its member corps such as Imperial Dreams have been anti-pirate from the very beginning.
Indeed we were often found in Sarum Prime back in the days when it was low-sec and a hang out of Tank CEO amongst others. This was when EVE Marshalls (anyone remember them?) were the main anti pirate corp around and Celestial Apoc were just a gleam in Darth's eye
We have maintained our anti-pirate crusade to this day as I am sure many reputable pirates will testify and indeed a look at our killboard continues to demonstrate this.

Your ex-corp mate Deja Thoris has battered this notion to death and gathered popular support in the crime & punishment forums. Besides being irrelevant to the OPs post it's also untrue in many ways. Most of the anti-pirates that roam Placid, for example, are there because they want to safe-guard their carebear approach to money making. They want to do missions, trade and mine in peace and they want pirates to **** off towards Jove space.

Anti-pies are like hot brunette chicks that get up every morning, stare into the mirror and try to convince themselves that they are every bit as stunning, vivacious, and exhilarating as a blonde chick. Then one day, all those secret feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing build to a head, and they reach for that bottle of bleach û only to find that its true, blondes really do have more fun! :P -------------

The Royal Guard + allies are i guess what you'd call one of the local militia groups.
It's alot of fun, and pirates are a hell of a challenge to catch and kill. If they're griefers (some not all) then it's very rewarding and if they're not you get to know some interesting people indeed.

Ever played Monopoly? You can play nice, or you can play cutthroat--but either way, the obvious goal is fake power and fake money, and the real goal is having a good time playing with and against other people. (And incidentally, driving funny space ships game pieces around the board.)
EVE is just like Monopoly, but with a million times the possibilities. And more lag.
So no, for me it's not personal in the way you mean. If you take the threat of having your ship blown up to heart personally though, that's your choice. But in that case, I'll ask you if you feel the same about the traders undercutting your prices, the manufacturors squeezing every ISK out of you they can, the mission runners driving up inflation, and the miners competing for your asteroids.
It's all PvP, my friend, every bit of it. I understand the appeal of anti-pirating because of the role-playing aspect and the thrill of new kinds of fights--it's something I'd like to do myself some day. But when that time comes I'm not going to be telling myself that my goals are somehow better or more real than those of the people I hunt.
* * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Thanks for many of the constructive replies. Yes when I first made my account I had pvp in mind and I really wanted to go out there and kill anyone and anything. I skilled up all the tools I needed webber scrambler ect 2 Medium nos and bay full of drones. First low sec system I went into was rather quite just one guy in local. I was gona get the scanner out when he contacted me in local. After a breif chat he offerd me 500k to keep the rats off him for half an hour while he mined in a barge. Next thing im in gang and warping to him, well I said this it my first chance at pvp and its a fat mining barge,my fingers were trembling as I held the mouse over the target button. I couldnt do it.I diddnt have it in me to blow up a guy who was offering me my first payed work and nice enough to gang with me. Since then I have lived in low sec systems ratting and having run ins with the local pirates. If anyone else knows of a good anti pirate corp please post.
thanks for your time.

head to fribrodi constellation and hit up my corp or the imperial commonwealth. We have an anti-pirate thing going down there in low sec. We even head to amamake or rancer and try to pick fights with pirates. Most of the time the pirates run like little girls. Sometimes they'll get in carriers and hug stations trying to convince us to engage until the carrier eventually docks like a *****.
PS any pies out there that want to blow up the crappiest carrier pilot I've ever seen head to resbroko. Mean corp and digital assassins hug the station and tell us to "make the dock". meaning that they will dock at the first sign of a losing battle.

Of course they will... the same way you would if you were losing... So I guess you are just going to have to be smarter than the pirates.
Our job is to make them have the most un-enjoyable eve experience we can. Nothing more... Nothing less.

I would beg to differ, sir. The "honorable" pirates are, unfortunatly, a dieing breed. Anymore folks who call themselves pirates would fit more into the ganker/griefer category than the pirate category. The "true" pirate are still around, but are becoming harder and harder to find.
To the op: There are still some ant-pie corps out there. If you look hard enough you can find them. The Royal Guard, as mentioned above, and few others are around the Placid region.

If I do recall, check these KB's DASS will ya? That and I do recall many fights vs. both your corps, and you have yet to destroy me in every situation. Being 4v1 or 8v1, you guys seem to always lose. Well when I grow up I want to hunt pirates cause it irritates me to be blown away in my destoryer by a BC while I am traveling.
Dont get me wrong, a little PvP is FUN but being blown up in a few shots from someone so far away I cant even lock on them (not to mention that even IF they were in my weapons range the damage I would do would be minimal) is not. And its pirates like that (who even blow up your pod) that I want to hunt.
I want to be CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow of Eve. :)
