Hello guys,
Been a while since I have been on EvE - I can't even remember how i left the game back in 2011 but apparently I am in a POD so it must have been good.
Game is still being downloaded, while that is happening I have been considering using this time to come back to EvE with a more PVE mindset.
I am seeing a lot of new terms floating about the place but I was wondering if I could get a couple of decent links to some reading material to start me off. Basically I am after all PVE options a player can have on EvE. I have around 30mil sp all focused on battlecruiser and smaller (from what i remember) so currently I cant fly battleships at all.
Once i have a game plan I will jump back into a corp and take things from there.
Any help would be appreciated and I look forward to seeing you guys in game. |

I would recommend doing the Corp thing sooner rather than later.
Hop on com's with some people and you're likely going to be cought up much faster.
in terms of Pve I believe we have much more than when you left.
Look into things like burner missions, New sleeper sites (in k-space) , null sites (in w-space) , 101 New wholes , thera .
I'm sure I'm missing plenty but someone else will help out.
Personally haven't tried any of the new "content" out as i prefer shooting other players but I hear good things from those iv shot.
Edit:
actually you should probably run the tutorials again, No Offense ment but there's been a considerable amount of work gone into updating eve (even in the time iv been here) and much has changed particularly the exploration one as probing mechanics have changed a fair bit

Welcome back!
PVE is a pretty "big" area of activities.
One of the best all around guides out there is Eve Uni's wiki. They manage to keep most of it up-to-date.
So there is PVE;
Missions - you should be able to handle Level 3s, if you have standings for Level 3 agents. Level 3 missions are designed for battlecruisers.
Exploration - this can lead you to data and relic sites, wormholes, and DED combat sites. You could run 4/10s in a battlecruiser and they can pay very well, especially if you're doing them consistently (as every site won't have nice loot or escalations. You can also run any combat site anomalies, as they do have a low chance of spawning escalations.
Wormhole daytripping - you can run the lower wormhole categories (C1, C2) fairly solo, but you'll need to be decent at scanning and have a good idea on how to survive solo in a wormhole. C3s you could daytrip into as part of a small group. If you go into C1s expect to have to scan your way back out since a battlecruiser could easily roll a C1. Wormhole dwellers are very protective and possessive of their holes, so expect PVP at some point. Setting up and living in a wormhole will require a corp effort and this is much more involved than daytripping.
Industry - this can range from mining, to planetary interaction, manufacturing, research, and invention. It covers a large area of activity and you'll need to skill up in certain areas (just as anything in Eve).
As always, doing stuff in Eve Online is always better as part of a group, whether in a corp or just hanging with a bunch like-minded pilots.
I hope some of this helps.

I'm a returning player as well and am in desperate need of a comrade.

[bittervet] Nothing. Go back to WOW [/bittervet]
Everything here is PvP, or at the very least subject to PvP. Even anything that you do in hisec.
With that said, the "least PvP interaction" that you have is probably missions or mining.
Missions are "infinite" in that you can run as many as you like in a day (although, you will repeat them after a while). Mining is pretty close to that nowadays, since the belts respawn every day. That said, mining rocks (or selling stuff on the markets) negatively impacts someone, so don't be surprised when they stop your efforts with antimatter.
Slightly higher levels of PvP are sites (archaeology / hacking / etc.) -- you're directly competing with players to find and complete the sites before they do. They're still "infinite" in that once a site is completed, a new one spawns somewhere, but the competition to find/complete these sites is higher than with mining/missions.
After this, it pretty much gets more and more PvP focused, culminating in direct combat.
One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
