Greetings,
I would like to know if DUST will come out on PC, not just PS. It seems odd that DUST would not be on PC, as there is no direct link.
I would like to be able to run my missions in space, then move to ground mode, on the same platform, during the same session.
It could be that many people who would run EVE, might run DUST, if there was no need to switch platforms, and vice-versa, those who would run DUST might run EVE. On the other hand, the need for 2 different platforms may be the deciding factor, it is for me; I can't get a PS to run DUST.
And, it seems that it might be difficult to run space and ground operations together in real time, and have them actually mesh together.
I hope a PC version of DUST does come out, it might really make a difference in the growth of the game verse.
Just a few thoughts.

Everything in EVE is a trap.
And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

There is this Project Legion and I understand CCP want to make more money so they make it a standalone game but all these Eve spin-offs should have been Eve (paid) expansions where you could fluently switch from space to avatar and this create a much richer gaming experience.
Alas CCP did not go that route and are creating yet another FPS, for the PC this time, but with little real connection to Eve. Sad really as CCP could have made a truly revolutionary experience if they managed to put together space ship with sci-fi in one game and people could choose if they want to spend all their time in either or mix it in both as they felt like. |

To answer your question the answer is yes. CCP games in Shanghai where Dust514 is being made is working on a prototype called Project Legion that is Dust514 for the PC. It has not been green lit yet by CCP games. I hope it will be. Here is a vid on the subject.

Basically Project Legion is what you're looking for. So you are getting what you want. What I am curious about tho is what happens with Dust 514? I'm kinda hoping CCP will continue to support it, ideally with a port on the PlayStation 4. I do play Dust 514 but it's a bummer loading it up on the PS3, the hardware just is not up to the task of playing this game. |

DUST 514 will continue on the PS3 as long as there is enough of a player base to keep it profitable.
They announced at last Fan Fest that they were cutting the development team to just 3 people, but those 3 Devs did more to fix the game in the following 6 months using hot fixes than the old team had in the previous 18 months. When the game started turning a profit they started to do client side patches as well.
DUST 514 got its first Expansion since release today: Warloards 1.0.
Project Legion is essentially DUST rebuilt from the ground up for the PC, with the added intent of correcting some of the core mistakes they made when building DUST. It will have everything that DUST had (with the exception of some minor things they did not think worked) plus more MMO features such as open-world salvaging grounds and an open market.
Since they have promised to allow DUST characters to be ported to Legion, you can think of Legion as a continuation of DUST. |
