First off I have to say I love the new warp, the distortion of the planets and other space objects makes the trips much cooler. Also the entrance and exit to warp are much more enjoyable.
That being said, one of my favorite things about traveling was seeing other members of my fleet in the same warp tunnel in a semi-haphazard yet cool group. Now when I hit warp with a fleet everyone is blurred and warpy looking.
In my mind this doesn't make sense since they are all traveling the same speed so why should they be distorting with everything else outside the warp tunnel.
So in conclusion, warp is cool but make ships in fleet warps as they were previous please. |

Hmmm... might work...
Also, would be nice if we had trails while warping... instead of them instantly appearing and disappearing. |

I was thinking about that too but I thought it looked kinda cool on warp exit where it just kinda snaps from long to nothing. That and whenever someone gives me a laundry list my eyes glaze over, when its just a single thing I tend to get right on it. |

Really no sense? That they're travelling next to you doesn't necessarily mean you're using the same warp tunnel. Thus, the distortion. |

What would be really nice is, if it was an actual fleet warp you were all in the same tunnel. But if it was just that fluke where you warp at the same time and at the same speed, you saw tham in their own tunnel and so doubly distorted.

******* forum -¼_-¼ anywho....
I was saying it would be nice to add in the previous blue and red shift effects as I always thought this was a nice addition..... |

The blue shift / red shift effect was always wicked to see and I think it should be integrated into the new tunnel effect. Did anyone happen to notice that it was brighter depending on how fast you were going? Cruisers and BS would see it normal and sort of faded into the background of the space they were in but Interceptors and other fast-warping vessels had an almost royal blue/fire-engine red tunnel ends. That reminds me, if you have a mixed fleet setup of frigs/BS/ceppys, do they all warp at their own speed, tearing the formation apart, or do they agree on the lowest speed - that of the BS?
I guess the former is the case, since 'fleet warp' technically means a short override in the member's navigation computers to issue a warp command. Hence, everyone warps independently. |

Reality aside, Visually I prefered the cool factor of other ships being in the warp tunnel with me. Makes for cool screenshots. Perhaps other ships having a slight ripple but not to the extreme of the background. Red blue shift was nice during warp too. |

All the ships will warp at the lowest warp speed of the ships in the fleet warp. Makes for some long warps when I have cruisers or even friends frigates warping with my Fenrir. But it looks awesome, and I miss that. I say fleet warp = no distortion, random warp with someone else = distortion. |

I really like how the trails zoom out super long when you enter warp. All it needs is a quick engine flash at the moment you enter the tunnel and it would be pretty epic. |

Warp tunnels should not even Show the space around it like it does because you fly much faster then light speed. ( id ont know how it would look because i never wnet faster then 220Km/h). What i do know that it would realy be awesome if you just enter a dark tunnel with lighning inside. the same like you travel trough a planet but then the whole trip.. It would be more like creating a small personal wormhole..

True, but it does look cool.
To be realistic, the view to the fore of the ship should be starlines blue-shifted into into the UV or Gamma spectrum, and the view to the rear of the ship should be dead black since no light will be impacting you from that direction. That would look really boring though, since that leaves nothing visible at all. Possibily there would be a red shifted ring just behind the perpindicular of the ships vector, but at the ridiculous speeds of multiple AU/sec I doubt even that would be visible. |

This is like what? The third..maybe fourth they have changed the warp graphics in the past 2 years or so (at least since I started early 2009). Can we just give it a ******* rest and move on to something else regardless of the little annoyances everyone has. I liked the last warp tunnel better, if only the damn thing would align in the same direction and the last couple months sometimes didn't even show some days. ****, I hate the engine trails and was the first thing turned off would of prefered new ship models not reshashed updates I can barely see that only added texture instead of making ships more symmetrical (New Scorpion, I am looking at you. Either get your buddies to look the same now or grow a ******* appendage/tumor out at an odd angle to stop standing out) |

Also Einstein should be seen running along the side of the ship with a speeding ticket....
Looking at the tunnel it does actually look like it has a blue shift as you accelerate.
Am pretty sure I saw a video of what light speed would potentially look like, similar to the above but I think they had it so you couldn't see forward either.
The doppler effect for a wave traveling at C detected by an observer traveling greater then C towards the source would have a weird frequency I believe.
The equation is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppler_effect if anyone wants to figure it out.
