Hi was just wondering how the looting mechanic and escalate mechanic works in this game., does it have any thing to do with the player them self? or does the game just see it as there is a wreck and it needs to randomly fill with loot?. so no matter if play A shoot a finishes a complex and triggers an escalation what ever might make it escalate if player B does the same thing it will also trigger an escalation same with loot if player A shoots a faction rat and loots it and gets a bpc if player b would have instead shot and killed it they would also get a bpc? |

Loot drops, escalations and Commander NPC spawns are all chance based random events. Some of those events have a higher percentage chance of happening compared to other events.
Some events need to be triggered by doing a certain action like destroying a structure or a specific NPC. Some events happen just by landing on grid.
Bottom line - they are all chance based events that happen randomly..

What you are asking is basically an age old (and false) EVE pve superstition. Human beings are superstitious by nature and EVE is no exception.
I once had a guy rage on me in comms because i got the kill shot in a complex that triggers the 3rd (and final) escalation. We were in Stage 2 of a Fleet Staging Point. Stage 3 ended up being only 4 more jumps away. He said "now we won't get any good loot, the person who gets the 1st escalation needs to get all of them for loot to drop".
i told him this wasn't true and he argued me down lol. So i bet him all the Fleet Staging point 3 loot, it he was right and we got nothing but the Overseer's effects, i'd give him an additional 100 mil and he could keep the Overseers box. If I was right, I'd just keep all the loot. He agreed in arrogant fashion.
We go 4 jumps and do the fleet staging point three and the Station explodes and drops the overseer's effects.....and 2 Deadpsace A-Type hardeners.....and a Deadspace A-Type shield booster...Oh and a VINDICATOR Blueprint. 2 Billion+ isk drop.
He.was.ticked.off lol. I don't think we ever did another Expedition together after that.
To answer the OPs question, no it does not matter who shoots what. Random is Random. |
