I added this to the Ships & Modules category, as I didn't find a category for implants, and these directly would effect the ship, if they exist.
What are the shield tanked super capital implants that are used today for their pilots? I know very well about the slave set which i keep for an armor super, but after more than a month of searching online, I'm beginning to believe that shield HP implants don't exist...
Is this because shield tanked super capitals tend to have more EHP?
If anyone knows, thank you, I appreciate it. |

Talking to a friend on comms, we found a single implant:
Zainou 'Gnome' Management SM-703
3% bonus to shield total capacity. |

Raising the dial of numbers on eve-central.com I was able to figure out that the SM-706 variation is available. But that is still in the same implant slot as the last mentioned, Slot 7.
So is there just a single implant for this kind of ship that effects the total shield EHP? |

The unique faction implants that affect shields are the guristas, but these only affect shield boosting for subcapital ships.
shield capitals have more ehp because they can fit shield tank in mids and lows (power diagnostic systems) while armor capitals only can fit tank in lows, even with slave sets, they cant match the ehp from a shield capital. |

Update:
Zainou 'Gnome' Shield Operation SP-906 "6% boost to shield recharge rate" Zainou 'Gnome' Shield Management SM-706 "6% bonus to shield capacity" Zainou 'Gnome' Shield Emission Systems SE-806 "6% reduction in cap need of modules req. the Shield Emission Systems skill."
Those three seem super viable.
There is a fourth: Zainou 'Gnome' Shield Upgrades SU-605 "5% reduction in power grid needs of modules requiring the Shield Upgrades skill."
Not sure that the 4th one does anything for supers...
Feedback please. |

Feedback please. Shield recharge rate on capital ships is ridiculously low to begin with. Sure, improving it always helps, but it most likely won't provide any serious contribution. You can almost certainly find something better to use there, even if it's not for shield tanking.
Shield capacity obviously helps.
I am uncertain if the shield emission implants apply to capital modules or not, but if they do that would be a huge help too.
Shield upgrades won't help as that's for modules like extenders and such.

There is a set of implants that boost your shield boosting capability, it is known as the "crystal" set if im not mistaken.
If the entire set is plugged in, it gives a significant increases to local shield boosting capability. Add drugs to the equation and supercaps have quite a monster tank. |

Crystals doesn't work for capital modules, nor does the shield emission implant I believe. |

Dang, well I guess no implants would affect capital shields then apart from the ones that just add hitpoints. |

The Genolution Core Set gives, with the 3&4 applied, bonuses to max HP. So, they are a legit choice for Implant slots 1-4. Especially since they also give capacitor.
The other good impset is ...nomads? the agility ones. For faster aligns. Or Ascendancy. For faster Warps.
Since, you know, warping is now way more common in supers. :)

Remember, shield-tanked supercarriers, do not have the use for shield boosters or amplifier modules. They have such a high EHP that the total amounts, to well over 60 million on Hels/Wyverns when overheated (Rhea release and later).
This means that the EHP alone should be extended with active hardeners of officer type or lower costing dead space depending on how much the owner wishes to pay for the total fit. This is very personal and depends on each individual owner be that a private owner or an alliance that has paid for the super carrier.
I am very happy for your new ship! Grats. Hope the above is helpful to this forum thread. |

OK this looks helpful. Mind linking an example of the Genolution core set, so that I can research that a bit?
Warping is common for small gangs of supercaps or regular carriers that hot drop and warp off... |

Yes I'm going for an EHP fit, not a quick-align-warp fit. Thanks. |
