Real name: Alexander Timezone: Central Time Zone (UTC-06:00) Age: 19
I played EVE for a few months way back when. Had no idea what I was doing, I caved in and bought the game again looking for a game to kill some time on (What better game to do so right?) The difference between then and now? Nothing, I still have no idea what I'm doing. But that doesn't mean I haven't played complicated games before, so I'm here to ask a simple question. Anyone want to bro-up with me, show me the ropes, maybe some monetary assistance? (HARHAR) I'd just like to get into this community and gain some knowledge and become EVE savvy. To those who take the time to respond, thank you! |

People usually don't like it.

Real Age: Lemme grab a calculator ... Just a mo ... No, really? Eesh! 47. You kids, get of my lawn! Timezone: Doesn't match any known planet. Seriously. I'm all over the map.
I've been playing EVE going on six years, and currently have five paid accounts.

Honestly, bro-ing up takes effort, and I'm not saying that nobody will do it, but chances are low. It would also take longer to re-type or speak all the "knowledge" for you than it would take you to read the excellent guides and classes that EVE University has posted or that you can google up.
On top of the guides, feel free to ask as many questions as you want in this forum. That's what we're here for. Also, your newbie corp channel in-game is decent at getting questions answered, and if not the Rookie Help channel (which you can join) is a bit more spammy but also works. |

Thanks for the helpful advice, I'll take a gander at it. |

That said I need to recruit you to add to our Alexander collection.
I didn't precisely give much information now did I? This is quite the norm in other games, if a corp or alliance wanted to recruit me and had an age limit. That would be something to provide, now if I gave where I lived that'd be something else, also giving a time zone lets people know the hours they can expect me to be active. It's just courtesy, there's no reason for 100% anonymity.
I'd be honored to be considered in the Alexander collective. |

Hi Wendy,
Welcome to Eve.

If it comes to any form of verbal abuse or trolling, It's not like I'm not used to it. Whilst it might not be the norm here, the quo is anything but static. In good faith I made that introduction, if I'm to be pieced apart by it, so be it. I've been doing the tutorials, all is well thus far. Thank you for your concern however. |

Hello and welcome!
As has been pointed out in the thread, begging is not permitted on the forums (and especially not in the New Citizens section), so I have snipped it out of the OP.
Anyway, an unrelated piece of advice. People here in the New Citizens section always do their best to be helpful, but they are really best able to do that when they're given specific questions or topics on which to go on about. For example, "how can I make industry work in lowsec?" or "how can I find a good corp?" or "what sort of ship should I use for hunting NPCs in the Great Wildlands region?" It's okay if you don't have specific questions, but I'm just noting for the future how to best use this forum section.
Anyway, welcome to Eve, and good luck!

If I had something to offer you I'd help but you've not described what you are looking for.
Eve is not a linear game that can be "shown" to someone in it's entirety. If you could give some indication of what kinds of things that you like doing even in other video games. |

Combat mainly, at least for now. I'd like to try my hand at mining and trading eventually. Not much of the explorer so I can cull that one out. I know full well this game isn't so linear, but I was thinking more along the basic things. Which I'm pretty sure I've got down now anyways. |

I see that you are in a corp now so I am assuming that you've found some semblance of what you were looking for. |
