Do fighters need to worry about tracking speed?
I put an Omni Directional Tracking Unit II with a tracking script in it and the tracking of my Templar is still .225. I checked it while in space...
The item says drones, perhaps it does not work on fighters?

It works on fighters.
The issue is that you will only be able to see the "updated stats" while the Fighter is in the drone bay.
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective.

I have checked in the station, in the drone bay in station, in the drone bay in space, and while they are in space. Always the same .225
I also made sure the unit was on while in space. |

Hmm, there was a simlar thread some time ago. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5316980#post5316980
Can you see the effect of active modules (your omindirectional tracking enhancer) on other drones, just not on the fighters? |

Now that you mention it I don't see a difference ton Hobgoblin II either. Hugh...
I removed the unit from the ship and see no difference. .225 for Acolyte and 2.178 for Hobgoblin II.
Are we sure that unit does anything? |

It works. A lot of drone modules (all active modules if I recall right) don't show their effects on the drones. It's a legacy code issue and likely won't be addressed until drone swarms get implemented or some other similar major drone system overall rather than just drone stats. The low slot passive module I believe is the only one that shows any changes anywhere. |

I asked the guys in my corp. and they are stumped as well. Forgive me if this seems a little... rude... but...
You know that an Omnidirectional Tracking Link is an active module... right? As in... it need to be turned on (like an armor repper) before you see any effects.
If this is indeed the problem... might I suggest going back down to "smaller" drone ships and getting used to them first? This is kinda Drones 101 type stuff... not the kind of information you should be learning with a capital ship.

Dude, people have been complaining for almost a year now that displayed drone stats aren't updated with bonuses from active omnis.
So I'd like to hear what your excuse is.

I been away playing Star Wars for six months. The new expansion was a let down. You have to play the same story with every character, and it was so darn buggy. I just said to heck with it and fired up my old EVE account.
It appears that EVE has its share of bugs as well. O-well. |

Apparently. ShahFluffers comment doesn't come across as rude any more than a ****** is rude for drooling in front of you. It's simply stupid. |

Thanks,
Hey Iron,
You are correct in your observation that no difference can be seen in the stats. This affects all drones for the Omnidirectional Tracking link. I have tested it personally and found that the module actually works.
You'll need to use a program like EFT to get the actual stats from using the module. |

I have dealt with certain individuals who bought characters and thought that loading a script into a module was the same as "turning it on."
It's the same way all computer techs first ask you if your computer is "on." There really ARE people that dumb/clueless out there.
Also... I did some experimenting with my carrier. It seems drone info is no longer updated while in the drone bay (it used to be... I swear it).
