Hey, So I plan on doing some Courier Mission and then later on move to Hauling, but I'm not sure which skills to train.
The ones I've came up with are:
- Warp Drive Operation
- Spaceship Command
- Advanced Spaceship Command
- Evasive Maneuvering
- Generally useful skills:
- Shield Management
- Shield Operation
- Shield Upgrades
- Shield Compensations
- Social
- Connections
- Negotiation
- Distribution Connections
anything else that you can think of? or change anything from that list?
Thanks

u wont need advanced spaceship command until u get into freighters so leave that out for now.
General fitting skills will still be useful, so everything in engineering except cap emission systems.
rigging skills will be useful as well to reduce rig penalties as much as possible. |

For courier missions, your best course is a Blockade Runner. They all carry 8000 m3, which covers the majority of level 4 missions, and Blockade Runners are fast. There are the oddball 40,000 m3 missions, but then you can use a Deep Space Transport for those (or even a regular Industrial).
Beware that an uncloaked Blockade Runner, even in hisec, is a gank magnet. Don't AFK in one.
EDIT: The Amarr Magnate T1 frigate is otherwise the best ship to run level 1-3 courier missions in, as it is faster to train, and can be rigged & expanded over 1000 m3. |

I don't see much reason to run courier missions in anything other than a basic t1 fast transport (eg Wreathe), which requires very few skills, pretty much just what you mentioned, and will attract little to no attention from gankers. I don't see much reason to use covert ops unless you take missions outside of hisec. Just asking to lose BR by accident, especially since you can't make insta-undock and insta-dock bookmarks for all the possible stations you may be sent to. Only fit it to hold as much cargo as required (generally 8000 m3) otherwise fit it with nanos for quicker warp align. It's like like anyone makes a career of courier missions, they are generally only spammed to gain standings on characters not trained for combat.
You probably won't make use of shield compensation skills, they only effect shield amplifers which generally aren't fitted on transports, but Tactical Shield Manipulation is needed for shield hardeners, which are generally fitted. |

If I have to run courier missions for standings, I run them semi-afk using a nereus based on fits from Neville Smith, Eve Uni and Jester.
Passive tank and max basic speed so I can autopilot. AB so I can speed up run to next gate if I'm paying attention during autopilot. Cargo rigs so I don't have to change fittings for expanded cargoholds in most cases. Almost 15K EHP per EFT, slowboats at 460/ms and warps in 7 sec.
EFT will tell you what skills you'd need for the T2 fit or where to downgrade to T1. Truth is that no one is likely to mess with you for a no value cargo. I'd still manually pilot into a hub or through one of the bottleneck ganker systems.

You can put expanders and rigs on a magnate making it capable of carrying 1600 m3 with frigate warp and align speeds. If you're going to grind courier missions, I can see no better way to do them. |

Even if you dont afk, shield amps are very usefull fittings for transports. Thats because those ships need tanks against alpha ganks. Chances are, that your transport dies before you activate the shield hardeners.
