I haven't seen the following suggestion, but it will work under certain circumstances...
1. Join an Gallente Faction Warfare Corporation. This may be difficult as they may wonder why your standings are so low.
2. Run offensive complexes. This will increase your Gallente faction standings without lowering other faction standings.
3. Do not run missions for Gallente agents. If you run Gallente missions you will increase your Gallente standings, but at the same time you will lower other standings with other factions.
I've been doing this with CalMil and still have positive standings with GalMil. It has been an absolute grind, but so far worth it.

It's for market broker fees primarily.
Faction to player standing makes up 70% of the broker fee factor, corp to player makes up 30%. I have a good Gallente standing and an outstanding Federation Navy standing (7.5 and 9.99 respectively IIRC) which gives me a considerable advantage when trading in Dodixie 9-20 over my trade rivals there. It's like having the benefit of trading the Broker Relations skill to 8 (I have it trained to 5). On the flip side, if I trade at Jita, I have to put up with broker fees that are more in line with what a person with Broker Relations 2 would get, and that was *expensive* for me putting up a few multi-billion ISK sell orders lately.
Not saying you shouldn't sacrifice some of that Caldari standing to push up Gallente a bit, just be aware that the price for doing so is non-zero. The decision is yours. I would pay a billion ISK to improve my Gallente standings from 7.5 to 9.0 if the option existed.
SoE missions will not cripple your Caldari standings but will knock them down a little. Again, it's your call. Try one of them, see how much it messes with you.
I am fairly certain you become tax free at 6.65 standing. I was unaware that it affected brokers fees. If you are willing to pay a billion isk to go from 7.5 to 9.0 you must do an insane amount of trading. The broker's fee is so small that it would take levels of trading that I can't even conceive of to break even on that. |

This is plain wrong. Running GalMil offensive plexes will damage your standing with the Caldari and to a lesser extent the Amarr.
On top of that you won't be able to join the NPC Militia corp and no player corp will want you with that standing to Gallante. |

That's tax when refining ore (and it's 6.67). You never become tax-free on the markets.

That's tax when refining ore (and it's 6.67). You never become tax-free on the markets. Correct +6.67 allows you to refine ore without tax. But your standing also effects market transaction fees. You can't become tax free but it does reduce and conversely increase if you have bad standing with the faction. |

This graph has been updated and shows the correct Inter-Faction Relationships. As for my standings - Eveboard doesn't show the bonus increase I gain from Connections level 5. DMC
Be aware working for the Thukker Tribe & Thukker Mix will increase your standings with the Minmatar Republic. But the Gallente Federation consider the Thukkers to be criminals still so working for them will decrease your standings with Gallente.

Do you feel that the negative faction repercussions of having been involved in faction war were worth it, after you left? Was the availability of PVP, facwar PVE and LP opportunities made available within the faction war a good trade off for PVP? Would you do it all over again or recommend faction war to new eve players who're not quite appreciative of the consequences of joining faction war? |

Yeah, not only with Gallente but with all Factions except for Minmatar.
In fact when I first started playing this game over 6 years ago, Thukker Tribe was negative to all Factions and Vice Versa. However at that time Thukker Shield Extenders were the big ISK items to sell in Market. As such I did missions exclusively for Thukker Mix Corp and in the process almost locked myself out of all High Security systems.
In doing that I needed to find a way to fix the problem and after 3 months of research and some minimal testing, I created and shared the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' with the Eve Community. To this day 'The Plan' is still the easiest and quickest way to repair negative Faction standings as well as boost positive Faction standings.
