Just coming back to the game from a long heitus and was wondering if anyone could give some insight on the current meta. What ships would you suggest?
I can run any T1 / faction ship, so maybe you could give me a T1 ship and a T2 ship I should be working towards. Thank you for any help you can give me. |

vexors are pretty awesome for the price/performance ratio.
They have anti frigate capability and have heavy damage and also sports a utility high for very interesting fits.
Solo usually goes with a neut but in gangs you see remote repping vexors.
Omen is a pretty nice ship if you're not into drones
Moa is also coming into it's own since the med rail buff, but i wouldn't use it solo.
Most frigates are viable in some way or another, tristan and comet being majorly popular atm but others like tormentor, slicer, breachers etc aren't far behind.
T2 ships honestly aren't really that amazing in solo pvp, the only one I could think of that would do well is probably a cerberus.
I think cruiser and below is really balanced right now with a huge amount of feasible variety, choose something you like and go for it. |

Start with frigs until you get the hang of things again.
Slicers are an amazing ride if you can fly manually with good speed control.
I just started riding dual prop Taranis but am totally in love with it. We're going to run away and get married on a beach in Vegas.
Incursex is also good on the side when Taranis isn't home or when you're "Working late."

Much this
If you've also got some pretty decent frigate skills and want something that works well both for a fleet situation and flying solo, an Enyo or a Wolf can make an excellent tackler/anti tackle for fleets. You'll lose the speed of a ceptor, obviously but the tank on those things makes them pretty damn good as heavy, sustained tackle for any fleet. On the flip side, the agility and ferocity of an Assault Frigate makes it capable of taking on cruisers while still remaining relatively unscathed. It takes a bit of skill and knowledge to both pick the fights you want and how you should react to a certain situation, but assault frigates are great fun to learn and fly in any situation.
Another option, which is my personal favorite is buying a combat fit Astero and doing solo exploration. You'll have to drop quite a few iskies for a reputable fit, but an Astero as a solo ship is capable of going toe-to-toe with any frigate (except some Assault Frigs) or destroyer and survive almost every time. And if you see something warp in that you don't wanna fight? Burn away from can, cov ops cloak and warp away. Extremely fun little things that can also get you a decent payout from Data and Relic sites.

I haven't been playing for more than 2 years.
But I would recomend Cynabal, Vagabond and Stabber fleet issue. The SFI is probabaly the most underestimated of the 3, so if you are solo. You want people to think you are weak, otherwise hey wont engage.
SFIt can fit warp scram, double webs and Gyro/TE pure DPS fit. Or a scram + web _ cap booster, duel medium t2 armour rep fit.
Both are viable.
I also recomend 220 t2 vulcan cannons, carry republic fleet EMP, RF phased plasma, RF tit sab/ dep uranium rounds. and maybe a few houndred barrage rounds (no point sing barrage if you've got a scram, but you never know) |

Sorry, but no. Sacrilege is sexy and have some nice niches, but it's not very viable for solo pvping at their price tag and your fitting is very standard and you can get mor from that ship! Andy your kills with that ship would have been easier with cheaper ships. |

The only derps there have been the long point and the AAR tbh. Else, Sacriledge is gorgeous for fighting close to undocks/gates/holes in a dualrep-AB-fit or as a catcher of nanothings (whatever you catch might tank you for a sec but eventually breaks). It doesn't have the highest dps, but the med neut and the tank greatly make up for that. Leaving you with a ship that is hard to neut out and without incoming neut pressure runs it's own mods+neuts+one repairer stable. In quite a couple situations like extended brawls against decent opponents, cap stability starts to matter and the endurance of a sacriledge is just barely met by a Deimos or cap recharge T3. |

That's exactly the niches I was thinking about. Where I only used it on Gates so far. I don't play station-dock-games. It can tank sentry guns very well :) My Sac tanks with standard drugs more than 1k dps. But again, this is niche and for real solo-play (roaming) and not just gate camping I would use other ships. |
