no, you have to at least be in the game to activate mods, and that is how it should be

I was thinking, can the game turn on for us one of the above while approaching the gate? If we are on approach, like we approch a station, we can just MWD or AB towards it without losing too much energy -----------

Fair enough, but would this help the bookmark problem? -----------

I'm just fine with autopilot taking longer to get places than it does when actually sitting there playing the game. This seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Fit MWD/AB, and a good cap regen. Map the MWD/AB to F1 (or F-whatever you like) by dragging the module to the appropriate F-key slot. Press that F-key with an inanimate object that will keep it pressed. Activate autopilot. Turn off sound.

Erm, and don't switch to another window if it's F1. Otherwise, you get Microsoft Help a bazillion times, which crashes your machine. Happened to me. - Got grief?

You mean instas.
No, it won't help. If you are in a situation where you think you might get shot at, you are going to hover over your AB/MWD key anyway. Unless you are trying to do so afk...
In any case, not using an insta is called "slow boating" to the gate, and is seriously not advised in hostile territory. That's why there are so many of them. - Got grief?

I rather see the ability to set the AP to objects within a system or a bookmark. Having the ship end up at the station or POS per AP rather than sitting at the gate.

problem with that is you set all your insta's as waypoints.. hit optimize and then you can afk insta to your location.. the end result is more unballancing then allowing ab/mwd activation.
what would be nice is if travel worked like it does in freelancer. there is a highway you travel on and you can get ganked out of it. ----------- Website

That can easily be nerfed by only allowing a pilot to use one BM per route as waypoint.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many Eve players stand up and demand the interface continue to suck. Someone suggests something to make the interface less rote and annoying? No, it must not be!
I've been flying Assault Frigates, I need that AB on all the time. I feel like a monkey having to consistently press the button on every warp in. Why? Is there some great skill involved? No. It's annoying, simple as that. Anything that simply makes the user interface less annoying is a GOOD THING(tm).
What about hardeners and damage control? Same thing. I should be able to set them to turn on by default. They aren't as annoying as AB, since they only need to be turned on once per load, rather than warp, but it's pointlessly annoying.
It's the same thing with turning on/off guns one by one. Is there a good reaon for this? I can't think of one. How about drones only from a right-click menu? The interface loves to force the user to perform useless repetitive tasks.

i think the real problem is that the client doesnt retain module state between jumps.. warping and jumping shouldnt turn my ab off.. -----------
