I am getting so frustrated!
Every time my client crashes I lose ALL my settings, window positions, chat channels, key binds!
Is there any way to back this up and restore it? |

How about trying to fix your system so the client doesn't crash in the first place? |

Done new drivers, client re-installs etc. At random, whenever I log off to change a character or just exit the game it brings my whole win8 down and all my eve settings are gone. |

Only when I use log off or close the client. Both do the same thing so it crashes on close. |

Does your system crash at other times? Have you tried reinstalling Eve?
To your original question, Eve stores those setting in a folder on your HD. I forget the names of the files, but you should be able to google "Eve online copy settings " or something like that. |

Is there any way to back this up and restore it? This is very odd, as that suggests the cache & settings are corrupted.
1. EVE is huge, make sure you have plenty of free drive space!
2. Try clearing the cache.

The location could be different on Win 8. If so just search your hard drive for search term "core_char*".

That crashing sounds strange. Did you file a bug report with ccp? Maybe they can see somthing from the client logs that helps |

If the whole OS goes down on software failure, it's actually hardware failure. Check the system logs for the reason for the crash and if you find the broken hardware, replace it. |
