Is it the possible to set up sub-folder type categories in the personal item hanger when docked to better organise belongings kind of like the structure the corporate hanger possesses?-á
If so how do you do it as I can't figure it out?!-á |

There are 2 options for organising your personal hangers. You can use containers, which you can rename to store your items in. Look in the market for the different types and sizes.
Or you can use the filters to only show the items you are interested in. You can setup and edit the filters from the left panel of your inventory window ( its near the bottom). |

As said. Containers or Filters. Both work great, though I do prefer the filter option, mainly cause it takes away the time you have to spent dumping stuff in the right containers and/or go through containers to find something.

Only downside of containers is they can't hold other containers so you can sub-group things (can't even hold packaged containers ffs) Better off just using filters tbh.

I use containers, and it is kind of annyoing. Mostly due to the fact that if you need to move, you need to take everything out, and then you need to first get containers in your new home (not every station has containers available, so sometimes i need to ask corp mates to move containers into our new low sec system for me), and then put them in the right container again.
I know filters exist, but I just never really used them. I like to visually see the separation I guess. But if we move again, I think I will try just using filters.

I just wish there was a way to put fitted ships into containers. Gets really confusing when you put together a few dozen ships or so with different fits and they are all mixed together. End up having to give them some descriptive name and remember to change it before flying, which is easy to forget to do when you need to reship in a hurry. |

What a mess with the station containers ... this may historical be a thing, but today it's just bad design. CCP, give us folders in hangars and that's it.

Station containers are folders. Why is that so hard?

Station Containers
Note that you can prefix a label to enforce container sorting. Either a common prefix word, or a single character, or a Unicode character (which looks neater when it is a graphic character). Beware that not all Unicode characters are supported.

First World Problems
Cause it is SOOO hard to move stuff you want to sell to the actual hangar and then sell it.
Or...use filters, solves all problems in 1 go.

I personally use Stations containers, even though as mentioned, it's a shame you can't subgroup them !

The current model is extremely restrictive. Say I buy the ships and fittings for 10 Slashers. I can put all these in a container, but I can't fit them to a ship without moving them into the main hanger. If I mix them with everything else I have no way to keep inventory control. Especially if you start mixing loot in with fittings and ammo that were bought for a specific purpose. You can sort things into containers (except ships) but have to move them to fit them to a ship, sell them, repair them, etc. It just makes stuff difficult for no benefit at all. |

if I ever need anything specific I just use the search button.
my hangars are super-duper messy, oh well, at least I have a can for loot and random stuff.
I'll join the chorus asking CCP, don't take my fancy names away from me!

There are several different types of containers with varying size/storage attributes.
I use a lot of freight containers because I can move them without unloading or repackaging into a freighter if I'm relocating. I also use containers in orca's to keep them organized.
