The Level II Sec agents are shown as available in agent finder and sidebar, but they say I don't have high enough standings.
I have like 4.2 Corp standing. Is this yet another thing not available to a trial account? (The level 2 corp agent shows 1.2 corp standing and is shown as available.) |

There's no such restriction
Is that 4.2 corp standing for the corp those agents belong to? Is your standing with that faction really low (under -2)?
Where, exactly, do you see 4.2 Corp standing? |

Hmz, now that you say it.
A corp standing of 4.2 is really high for someone on a trial, unless you spent 23.5 hours a day grinding the standing.

Ok more exact numbers.
Level 1 agent = 6.0 Level 2 agent same Corp = 1 (when it hit one, level 2 agent became "available ") Gallente Federation standing = .62 (good)
So according to agent finder. I have a bunch of level 2 agents "available". I have seen old posts that said you needed faction standings of 2 or higher, but I have also seen info somewhere that said a Corp or faction rating of 1 or higher would let you use the level 2 agent. If we are still under the rule of 2 or higher faction rating, why are the agents listed as available?
Thanks for any incites you may have - this is all very confusing with a lot of contradictory info in the game and Wikis |

You need a faction rating of -2 (minus two) and once you have that, either faction, corp or agent standing above 1.
As for why you cannot access the missions, there might be two reasons: 1) The UI shows rounded numbers, so if your standing is shown as exactly 1.0, it might actually be slightly below it. 2) If you just now hit 1.01, it might take a while for the game to "notice". Try relogging and if that doesn't help, you might have to wait for downtime and try again tomorrow.
If your standing is clearly above 1 and have been since yesterday, file a ticket. |

There was never a trial restriction on Level 2 missions (there used to be on L3 missions, but IIRC they removed that too).
Likely your standings are just below actual 1.0 (a standing of 0.995 will show as 1.0 while it technically isn't). So could be that just a handful of L1 will make sure that you have sufficient standings for Level 2 agents.
Also,
you are listing:
Agent level 1 standings to you. Agent level 2 standings to you. Faction standings to you.
You NEVER list NPC corp standings to you.
So, look up the standings you have with: Astral Mining Inc.
Basically:
Is your standing with Gallente Federation above 1.0 > you can do the L2 agents for all Gallente corps. Is your standing with Astral Mining Inc. above 1.0 > you can do the L2 agents for all Astrel Mining Inc. stations.
You lack to provide the standings with Astral, which I think are below 1.0
Go to your standings windows in character sheet and look if Astral Mining Inc. is above 1.0...That's the one you need.

Your standing with a particular agent has no effect at all on other agents. So the relevant numbers here are:
Some Corp, standing 1.0 (bear in mind EVE rounds for display, so this may actually be 0.96)
Quote:I have seen old posts that said you needed faction standings of 2 or higher
That has, to my knowledge, never been the case. You need faction standing above -2 (negative 2) to use any agent other than level 1, but that's negative 2.
Quote:From Level 2 Agent screen" Ostes Zoenceliris Division: Security 0.9-áAlentene VII - Moon 5 - Astral Mining Inc. Refinery Effective Standing: 1.0 I'm sorry pilot, but you do not have the required standings to receive any missions from me. You will need to raise your standings by doing missions for lower-ranked agents. Use the Agent Finder to locate agents that are available to you.
May be rounding, may be that you need to re-log. Run another L1 and then log out/log in and see the agent will talk to you. Rounding because EVE rounds for display, but the agents check the unrounded number. So if your standing is actually 0.98, it will show as 1, but when the agent checks, 0.98 < 1, therefore you're not wanted.
Quote:Agent Level/ Standing Required
2 / 1 3 / 3 4 / 5 5 / 7
That is indeed perfectly correct.
Quote:I think there is some bad info out there - or more than likely it is the Trial Account preventing access
Nope, there are NO restrictions for a trial account for L2, L3 or even L4 missions. It is not the trial that's the problem.
Most likely, either rounding (run another mission) or cached standings (relog) or both.

Ok I logged out and booted back in -- and that did it.
Now I can access the Level II agent.
Bizarre though.
Thanks for everyone's help.
PS - I had a 1.05 score with the corporation before reboot. |

sounds like either a rounding error as described above, or it could be a long standing cache error, where all you need to do is relog and the lv2 agents should be available. If you have connections trained at all I would guess you can use any gallente lv2 agent as you have 0.62 gallente standings, and I would guess at lv1 that would still raise it above 1.0 standing.
so I'd say 1. Try relogging, if that works good you are done! 2. run a few more lv1 missions so your standing shows up as 1.01 or so, anything that shows it is indeed greater than 1.00 3. train connections, this is the more lazy option, but may indeed prove useful in the future.
I'll join the chorus asking CCP, don't take my fancy names away from me!

Yeah, it does occasionally happen that something is bugged till you actually force a recheck by just closing the client and restarting it.

I've done this many times. I can confirm that when you unlock various agent's or level agents with a corp (and I assume faction as well however only certain of via corp standings) that you need to relog before the agents will actually talk to you. It will say that you have access but they won't talk to you unless you relog. |
