My problem with it is, they have done this before, then when we called them out on it, CCP says, 'oh, well we always say what are patches are'...yet, here we are yet again...no notes. Regardless if it is just "back end stuffs"...CCP vowed to improve their communication...this is yet another example of them failing to communicate |

They added spyware to keep tabs on you and your illicit activities.

I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all.

They were obviously updating their super sekrit WOW disabler. They can't very well advertise that, now can they?
Seriously, if you're expecting them to detail out every tiny change and tweak they make, you're reaching. I mean we're getting patch notes ahead of major releases now instead of three days afterwards. I'd say we can cut them a little slack. |

It's probably the Circadian stuff, or that star. Advertising it would kinda defeat the point :) |

How hard would it be for the person in charge of "okay"ing a patch just to say "dust stuffs" or "back end stuffs"....they've done it before. (quite a few times actually)
Also, umm, with putting the patchnotes out for the major patches ahead of time...yeah, now they are including stuff that got scrapped or delayed, so its not as great as you think. Their previous excuse for not having the patchnotes ready for the day of the patch was that "we don't know what all was in it"....which is kind of a cop-out lame excuse.
But again, every team should be submitting some form brief description of what their contribution was...that way the person/or group that is giving the green light for said patch knows what they are saying "okay" to. Does that make sense? |

Well, your post didn't indicate anything other than "I can't find it. WAAH!"
And that still doesn't change the fact that you're acting like an entitled mongloid. Give them a few hours to type them up.

Nice back pedalling, I'm not the OP. And your "give them a few hours" is nothing more than "oh crap, I messed that up because I thought they were actually listed. I better be passive aggressive about it and try to save face".

I can promise you that they know internally exactly what's in every patch - that's what version control and defect tracking software is for, after all.
Here's a for instance - I can go look at any of our servers, pull the revision number of the code from it, go look up that revision in Subversion and see what files were changed, who changed them, and pull a diff on the previous version to see exactly what lines of code got changed. I can then link that back to the Defect tracking database and see exactly why it was changed.
Just because they didn't tell you what was changed, don't make the mistake of thinking that the people approving a patch don't know what's in it. |

This.
I just don't know. Some people think they deserve to get their @$$ kissed with regularity, but have a hard time themselves when it comes time to pucker up. This is a problem as old as the hills. We used to just club 'em and go on about our business. Maybe it's the price for civilization - enduring the entitled a-holes.
Makes one yearn for the good ol' days.
Treason never prospers. What is the reason?
Why, if it prospers, none dare call it "treason."

There are no patch notes there for a release today and none were put together internally as today was just a little bit of maintenance work.

I remember several patches over the years that infact changed game mechanics and balance that had no patchnotes...that is why we ask you for patchnotes... |

I do not see a problem. Minor patch for minor problems. It shows CCP guys are working, no need to explain every little detail. You can see it when you start eve so there is nothing special or secret about it.

I'd like to know what was patched as well, even if its just a one liner in the patch notes saying "We removed some unused legacy code" |

But you know that wouldn't be good enough. The second they posted it, someone would start a thread with "What code?! How do we know it was unused!?!?!" |

Pretty much this.
Everyone would want to know if the 'unused code' applied to one of their beloved bott..third party programs, or try to claim some stealth nerf/buff to something because reasons.

well, there's always that, but at that point that's players being dicks, ccp will have filled the minimum communications that should be given, they are under obligation to communicate with us, they are under no obligation to go into detail.
It could also be something along the lines of "yea, we removed a recently revealed exploit - if something you used to do isn't working any more be happy you haven't heard from us about it." |

Did you seriously post that? They are under NO obligation to communicate with us they do so as a curtesy. If tomorrow they decided to delete every pos in the game, they could and never let us know why. The outcry would be huge but there is not nor ever was an obligation to communicate with us.
