Hey, so implants on creating Ishtar alt but I'm not so sure about the skills.. I wonder if I should just aim for the Mastery?? (it will take like years and a half to reach tier 5 but I got time)
If no, then what skills would you recommend?
Thanks
P.S. I plat to fly this ship in a year or so - that gives me time to train everything :) |

P.S. I plat to fly this ship in a year or so - that gives me time to train everything :) Depends a bit on what you intend to do with the Ishtar... PvP needs a different fit than PvE. Overall I'd say Mastery I, II and III are ok . But you should double check skills in Mastery IV and V and ask yourself whether you really need them. There are also some other skills not included in Mastery, that you need. Good fitting skills are important for the Ishtar. This includes rigging skills (but only for those rigs you'll fit eventually, of course). For certain tasks you might want to fit a shield tank on the Ishtar, so you'll need those skills as well. And don't forget to train the Heavy Assault Cruiser skill, which is also not included in Mastery.

You have to understand what you want it to do, then you will figure out what skills you need for it. |

I have some characters whose accounts are inactive, but their original purpose was multibox Ishtar army. You have a lot of freedom. Your first goal should be Sentry Drone Interfacing I so you can at least spend the meantime in a Vexor. After that work on HAC I, and you'll have a minimum Ishtar with Faction sentries in just over 2 months.
These skills and this minimum fit gives you 550 DPS, which is less than 100 DPS short of a responsibly fit fleet Ishtar with everything level V.

As a general approach to skilling for a particular ship, I would look at three things: the skills you need for minimum qualification to fly the ship ("requirements" on the ship info tab), the skills/certificates required for level 3 mastery of that ship type (also from the ship info tab) and the skills required to fly the particular fit you want to fly (EFT or pyfa will give you a list). Put all these together and you've got yourself a skill plan. Oh, and while for most ships you only need the specific ship skill (e.g. HAC) to level 1, I'd run it up to at least 3.
