Who doesn't like dragging and dropping things?
It seems this is somewhat of a feature that EVE employs. However it's not available for use on your targets.
It would actually be rather convenient if we could say drag a module from our HUD onto one of our targets. Rather than having to first select the target and then select the module we want to use on that target.
This could also be useful for drones. So we can drag drones (say mining drones) onto the targets that we want them on.
Another benefit to this would be that we won't change the camera view by first having to select our target (which if you use the feature, swings your camera around to face that target). If you'd rather not have that happen for a particular target you could simply drag the thing you want acting on that target to it.

For drones I'd like to see that, especially in PVE I sometimes wish there was this possibility as F just doesn't cut it when you are (accidentally) in a chat window and even more complex Shift-CTRL-Alt shortcuts are a pain for my wrist and fingers. |

Yeah drones is what originally inspired me with this. Particularly as we can drag and drop them in our drone window.
But then also, unlike I'm sure a lot of players, I'm a module clicker. I occasionally use the hot-keys but more often I click the modules I want. Largely because they are always changing depending on what ship I'm flying. So I would still also like to see this as a feature for dragging modules from your HUD onto targets.
I'd find this particularly helpful when you have a module on the wrong target. You need to select your new target and then click the module twice. Once to turn it off from the previous target and again to get it onto the new target. And sometimes you need to wait for the cycle to end before you can be sure it's on the new target. With this instead you know what target you want and what module(s) you want on it, and you can simply drag them onto your preferred target.
It might not be the primary way you place your modules onto a target, however it would be an additional way that players could use at particular times where it would be suited for them. Say whenever you don't want to actively select the target, but you do want to apply a module to it.
I also like the target hot key idea. With the hotkey listed say at the top of the target. |
