CSM wasn't created to give the playerbase input. It was created to back the playerbase down. CSM is a crumb tossed to us to bail the powers that be out of WiSgate, and at this point I think we fell for it, too. (Sorry to say.) No corporation is going to give the unwashed minions the keys to the kingdom. At this day and age does that really have to be said? Apparently, yes.
It's a requirement to be able to make a trip to Iceland to be CSM, no? Once in Iceland, they are "wined and dined" so to speak. They're given the VIP treatment. They get to sit down with the bigshots and "tell them what's what." You can't believe anything pertinent to you is being discussed. Or, can you?
The anonymous nature of a "place" as huge as New Eden (we like to say) makes it possible for a handful of people from the largest organizations to pretty much place themselves on the CSM with no opposition. They represent their organization, not you. They even say so. "If we are good enough to get elected, and you aren't, why should we represent you?" This is just window dressing to keep up a pretense that "we" are being represented - that the mighty corporation (CCP) still listens to the little guy.
I have continually SCREAMED, "Don't fall for it." I've continually said, "Disband the CSM." I know they're not going to do that. I know the "big organizations", like the kitten wears the mittens, will always send someone up there, so if they just get ONE vote, but we boycott the vote, they'll get in anyway, and CCP will continue to say in its media, "Look! You're represented!"
As long as WE take them seriously, and act like they mean something, they get their press - their little public affairs act works. If WE (the playerbase) IGNORE them and stop giving them the bandwidth, they may exist, but they take the form of an elaborate ad, which is what they amount to, and just another public relations expense for CCP.
Bottom line? CSM works for CCP, not us. Don't expect anything from them and you won't be disappointed by them.
Treason never prospers. What is the reason?
Why, if it prospers, none dare call it "treason."

This thread is going in the wrong direction. Make a topic why CSM is bad. Here is only to point to CCP, that information about incoming sov changes is already used to make preparations.
Unless CCP think otherwise , all players deserve the same start in the new eve world - without it, they will be even more behind big players.
Based on recent big blocks moves i think lower tier moon minerals or PI will have more use, or they will be harder to obtain, but this might be only coincidence.

You mean like that time they got caught in bed with their null friends and decided to move from blatantly cheating to cheating via the CSM under the flag of democracy? Because that actually happened so we know CCP thinks otherwise. This is EvE though, CCP have been pretty big dicks to the community since 2003 and it's not going to stop now. Let them give null the advantage.....after all, that's where their income IRL is coming from.

tl;dr so far:
-Nulli leader tells line members "change is coming, haha i can't tell you what they are"
-OP tinfoils this into massive unfair preparation by nullsec powerblocks, wants to parlay this into free knowledge for all.
-OP pretends he is not trying to cause a shitstorm.
-Shitstorm brews anyway....

Abrazzar wrote:If you have clear evidence of a NDA violation, contact CCP Internal Affairs with the details. ^^This
CSM members sign an NDA for a reason, and is also why 99% of them WILL NOT risk acting on insider info
acting on the info (even if not means they KNOW theyll be screwed aswell as their alliance when the change DOES come) has REAL LIFE consequences
try getting a job at any respectable company when you have a compnay taking legal action against you for NDA breach on your record
(wow, i was sitting here on this post for like 5 minutes trying to end it, only to be unable to remember the word "record") |

Nulli CSM member states that : "i know changes , i cannot tell you , we have to continue adjusting and continue changing i think we can do it , i think we laid good ground work , i have good idea what do we need to become and i think we are in good position to do so "
Sorry but this sentence simply points that work in the direction of upcoming changes has already started without telling every one what those changes will be.
If i would know that in next month , people will have ability to make cheap fuel from garbage, i would buy all landfills that i can afford , without telling any one.

I hate to tell you, but this is leader-speak meant to pump up the rabble and build confidence in leadership without saying anything. It sounds good, but it means and proves nothing.
It does, however, make you a great candidate for pleb school, and an ideal line member if you're willing to believe everything your leader says as gospel.
Go Team!

Plain and simple: if you think it's an NDA violation, report it. CCP hasn't posted dev blogs yet because the changes aren't final and CCP has said this in the past.
If and when the eventual changes are somewhat organized, a blog gets posted for player "feedback" well in advance of any changes that could be made. For example, it's far too late to include the changes in Tiamat (release on the 17th), so the changes will likely be slated for Scylla on the 24th of March if it's ready. So, there's plenty of time. |

Ahar! When their new policy contradicts their old policy, they say, "Hey! Didn't you know?" Sort of makes you wonder which one was wrong, the old policy, the policy the old policy replaced or the NEW policy that replaced the old policy that replaced the old policy. Where I'm from, people who "think" like that are said to be "a mite squirrely."

The CSM is not there for the average player.
They are there to represent the big corp/alliances that put them there.
Think of them as politicians. |

I will say again.....MOON GOO. Goo-gle it.
Now all you csm/cpp fanbois are saying if NDA was breakes report it, but they are smart and dont technically break the law.
The moongoo exploiters said "HEY ALLIANCE, i just got back from my csm meeting, but ya know i was thinking this region we live in is getting old, everyone SHOULD MOVE TO THIS NEW Region. Also, um so i think that those unused x planet types that NO ONE mines actually look a pretty color, i am going to switch to start ONLY MINING THIS DIFFERENT KIND OF MOON, im not telling you too, but I AM."
And Gazillions of printed isk and thousands of Supers/Titans later here we are still pretending csm dont use inside information cuz they dont say Hey Bob, ccps gonna make this exact specific change in 2.34 weeks from now at 4:12pm |

So there's a super simple response to this:
If you feel like someone is abusing their position on the CSM for ingame advantage by using NDA covered material, feel free to email [email protected], and our IA team will look into it alongside our CSM Coordinator, CCP Leeloo.
This is something we take super seriously, and have a zero tolerance policy on. Thankfully, delegates on the CSM know full well what's at stake when they are on-boarded as a new council delegate and everything is explained to them. For the best part, in my experience they are incredibly careful and mature when dealing with sensitive information.
I'll happily say outright that if a situation ever arose where we found someone on the CSM cheating, I'd quite happily see to it that their asses were handed to them.
Zero tolerance.
