Has anyone worked out the sequence for completing the new version of Heresiology ?
I have worked out previously hacked containers reloockthemselves on a timer. I have also discovered failing a hack causes a previously unlocked container to relock.
However I have got to a point where I can have 11 unlocked containers and no 12th appears, just one of the existing ones eventually relocks.
Has someone here completed Wildfire since the changes ?

Well, what changes and when ?
Whenever I run the Epic Arcs I always reference and update the Eve Survival Mission Reports if needed. Last time I did that was in October 2014.
http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=Wildfire4p3&show_comments=1#comments
Mission 2 - Heresiology Faction: Ammatar Mission Type: Encounter Space Type: Normal Space Web/Scram: Ammatar Navy Delta I, Ammatar Navy Gamma II Required: Archeology III and Relic Analyzer module
Mission Objective: Search multiple Relics to retrieve 1x Engraved Blood Obsidian tablet (0.1 m3) and return to Agent.
Note All 3 original Relics must be hacked with Relic Analyzer. Some Relics will spawn a container with ancient documents along with another Relic which must also be hacked. Total amount of Relics to hack = 6. 1x Engraved Blood Obsidian tablet (0.1 m3) spawns in container after last Relic is hacked.
Warning Destroying these ships will incur a small Faction Standing loss to Ammatar Mandate.
Note Destroying these ships is not required to complete mission. If needed destroy any Web/Scram Frigates and warp away.
Initial Group (55-75km) 10x Frigate (Ammatar Navy Delta 1 Support Frigate, Ammatar Navy Detective, Ammatar Navy Gamma II Support Frigate) Web/Scram 5x Cruiser (Ammatar Navy Maller) 4x Battleship (Ammatar Navy Armageddon, Ammatar Navy Apocolypse)
Tip NPC's are spread out within the mission area making it very tough to avoid ship kill or to blitz this mission. Best to quickly destroy all ships first due to amount of Relics needing to be hacked.
Possible Avoidance Of Ship Kill Lure NPC's away at least 150km to 200km range and then quickly double back to hack Relics. Repeat as needed until all Relics are hacked and mission objective is completed. Fitting a Micro Jump Drive will help a lot. Alternately fleet with an Alt or friend to take full stage aggro.
Seems my 3 months waiting time is over so I can now run that arc again and re-verify the info. Hopefully the info is still current and I won't have to edit the pages again.

Yeah I have not updated it because i am still unsure what is happening. There is a pattern of sorts but I am unclear what it is.
Changes I noticed:
- i got a very small (0.075) standing hit for killing one (but only one) of the battleships - hacking a can does not always seem to spawn a new can, sometimes it means you need to rehack a previous can - over a sufficiently long time it seems like all the cans spawned eventually "relock".
I have had the mission reset as possibly bugged so will try again next weekend.

Definitely bad news indeed.
Whenever I run that mission, I first destroy the NPC's as quickly as I can. Then I take my time and hack the containers.
Last time I completed that mission, Oct of 2014, there were only 3 containers present upon warping to the site.
My question is how many containers are now present upon warping to the mission site ?

Three
Hacking two of those changed their status to "unlocked" but created no new spawns.
Hacking the third one spawned a fourth.
After that it got complicated.

OK, 3 containers are present upon warping into the site. So at least that part is still the same.
The first 2 cans you hacked didn't spawn anything. Did you open each container immediately after the successful hack ?
When you submitted the Support Ticket, did you ask CCP what the sequence is for those cans ?
Just trying to figure out what exactly is going on with the site.

Yeah they were empty.
None of the cans ever contained anything the two documents I got spawned in cargo containers after the hack which spawned them.
In the support ticket I just said "unable to get final objective to spawn" and they immediately reset the mission within about 2 minutes of lodging the ticket. |

I've done this arc recently. I'm not 100% sure when, but the arc is still on cool down so within the past 3 months
I can confirm that this mission and the arc in general could be completed when I ran it, but that's about it. Not sure why ur mission is freaking out. Hopefully the reset will solve this issue. |

I did that mission last night and got a pamflet in first 6 cans, then one in next 12 and one in later cans. I stopped doing it at 40 -50 cans. They reset the mission almost emediately after i logged the ticket and I Did it again tonight and still empty cans. (and i hate minigame, left after they changed it last time) |

Just recently i petitioned something like this: ... I completed M. Arc yesterday before DT. The finish was annoying, as can spawn in "Heresiology" was weird (after hack no new cans spawn, i wait, then dock, come back to mission, sometimes there are containers next to hacked cans, even when immediately after the hack cans were empty, after some time new cans spawn, ...), i docked and returned to mission 5 times and i hacked around 20 cans total. ... I left "detectives" alive, as i read at eve-survival only detectives bring standing penalty. It is not true, as I got some standing hits nevertheless, but because of "detectives" I was quite in a hurry with my hacks. I suspect, this was the problem. I suppose can state update can be botched at the server side due to hacking speed, as puting a delay between hacks (docking at station) helped me to resolve the matter to my satisfaction ... Anyway, the experience was less than enjoyable. |

That is interesting. When i warped out and came back later I did not get new cans just found cans that I had already hacked needed to be done again.
The missions seems to now be somewhat random. |

Gotta say having to hack 20 to 50 cans just to get the mission objective is messed up. Definitely sounds like the mission is bugged now, especially if CCP quickly keeps resetting it for everyone.
Hell, when hacking cans in Cosmos Complexes to find mission item that usually only requires hacking a dozen or so cans, maybe 2 dozen at most to get the required item.

Can confirm something funky going on with this mission. Found your thread after googling "bugged Heresiology eve"
I've only got 7 cans to spawn, having to wait forever for them to "reset" so i can hack them again... may just put in a petition and say to hell with this. |

Obviously it's a confirmed bug which is why they're quickly resetting the mission.
From reading this thread I got the impression that resetting the mission doesn't help. The bug still exists.
I'm just wondering why they even bother to reset it instead of just completing the mission for the player.

DMC I had read somewhere probably eve-survival.org that there was supposed to be 6 containers and the mission objective was in one of them. In my petition I had mentioned that I had successfully opened more than twice that number and still not gotten the mission completion item.
So it might be in the wording or in which GM you get or what mood they are in. When wording a ticket try to be more definitive and specific as people are likely to give you what you ask for. So instead of saying something like "I don't know what's going on with this mission I did what it says and it won't let me turn in" say something like " The mission objective says do X, Y, and Z and I did X,Y, and Z and it is not completeing can you please either complete the mission for me, or give me the mission objective."
Also if you give some kind of indication that you have looked into it and done some reading and not gone strait to the GM ticket UI to solve your problems. So slowly read the mission description and then look it up on eve-survival maybe do a google search on it but put some kind of wording that shows the GM you've read and are fairly certain that you are doing the mission correctly and that if you are not it is too poorly worded for the average player to be able to figure out with a reasonable amount of investigation.
These are just guidelines for general communication skills and how to word things when trying to get results. No game is perfect and every game that you pay money to play has some type of GM system. The GMs aren't trying to screw anyone over they are there to solve problems. However while this may be the first problem that you have run into in a few months or maybe even ever in game for the GM it's likely the 20th bugged mission he's had to take care of since his lunch break. So you really can't expect them to read more into it than what you give them.
Further people are mostly lazy so if you do the work for them and explain the problem and propose the solution most people won't look into it any further if what you are saying seems reasonable. In that case you are more likely to just get what it is you are asking for.
With regards to this mission specifically these arc have been out for a while. If it's bugged why has it not been fixed? It would just seem to make more sense than taking up a GMs time but maybe the arcs don't get run all that often. |

The other issue with a reset is it does not reverse any faction hits from ship kills so if you reset several times killing ships each time you can end up with a substantial hit to Faction Standings.

Just did this mission. Had to lodge a support ticket to reset mission, and was even given the mission item by a support GM. Ultimately, they still had to just set the mission as complete for me.
On arrival at mission site there are 3 relic cans. Hack them all, they drop a 4th can. Hack 4th can it drops a 5th can. Hack 5th can it drops a 6th can. Hack 6th can it drops a container.
It is my understanding from the wiki and eve survival guide that this container should contain the mission item. For me it only contained a miscellaneous item. Anyway after a couple of mission resets, and rinse and repeats, a GM just gave me the mission item. Unfortunately that didn't help as the 3rd mission requirement could not be resolved. The one that requires you to go to the location and actually do the mission. So they kindly just set the mission as complete for me.
I was using a fast frigate to lure the NPC's away from the cans and doubling back to hack. So, not sure if it makes a difference if you kill the NPC's. I couldn't afford the Faction hit though.
Big shout out to the GM's online that helped me out. Their support was super prompt and ultimately effective. |

I agree and whatever it was that CCP did to it they need to reverse it asap.
All this does is create unnecessary Support Tickets which in turn makes the whole support system run even slower. Same with the arcs not automatically giving the Faction standing increase when completed.
I'm sure the GM's time could be much better used on answering other support issues than constantly having to fix problems created by inept programming.

THis mission still seems buggged.
1, Attempted mission several times, just got randomly refilling cans after they were hacked.
2. Wrote support ticket they reset Mission.
3. After reset missin was still bugged exactly the same way.
4. Wrote second support ticket and was given mission item. Completed as much hacking as possible until had multiple refilled cans.
5. Tried to submit mission with mission item in hold and was told "One or more mission objectives have not been completed. Please check your mission journal for further information." |
