EVE University - Teaching new players about EVE Online since 2004
EVE University is a neutral training corporation with the primary aim of helping new players to EVE Online learn about the game. EVE University was founded in 2004 and since that time tens of thousands of players have passed through our doors. Our members are free to make their own decisions while a member of the corp and explore whichever area of the game is of interest to them, whether they have a specific learning goal in mind or are a new player wanting to try out a wide variety of things to find their niche. Members are free to leave at any time if they feel they have learned what they need and want to move onto another corp. Alternatively, members are welcome to stay around and help train newer members.
We offer a wide range of facilities for the benefit of newer players, all of which are organised and staffed by volunteers:
- Scheduled classes on a wide range of subject areas. These are usually given over voice comms (Mumble). The majority of our classes are open to the public, and you can read more about joining them here. We also record many of our classes and store them in our publicly available Class Library.
- One-on-one mentoring from more experienced players
- Regular fleets, the majority of which are suitable for very new players. We offer PVP fleets as well as mining, missioning and other PVE fleets
- Frequent events and competitions organised by members
- Campuses in different areas of space so members can gain experience living in different environments in EVE Online. We have campuses in high sec, low sec, null sec and wormhole space
- Active forum, mumble and chat channels
- Comprehensive and publicly available wiki which contains a huge amount of information on EVE Online
- A skillbook reimbursement program, which enables members to claim back the cost of vital skillbooks up to a maximum of 1 mill ISK per day
- A ship replacement program to enable members to claim reimbursement for the loss of certain ships
- A discounted implants program to enable members to obtain implants to speed up their skill training at a discounted price
- A wide variety of ship hulls and fittings available for free in our corporation hangars
- Access to jump clone creation facilities to all members
- Programs to enable members to obtain ships by bringing their own minerals or purchasing their own ship from other members
- An FC reward program to encourage members to try out leading a fleet
Our requirements
We do not have any minimum or maximum skillpoint requirements, and we welcome anyone who wants to learn more about the game. We do have a few requirements from our applicants:
- We only accept main characters into EVE University, and one character per player
- We require applicants to have a security status of at least -1.0
- We are a family friendly corporation and expect members to follow our rules. This includes character names and bios
- We expect our new members to have a basic idea of game mechanics, therefore we ask that applicants have completed at least three of the career agent missions
If you meet the above requirements we would invite you to apply using our Application Tool. to apply you will need to register a new account on our tool, and instructions for that are here.

Testimonials
Lyris Nairn: EVE University is a great corporation for new players, and a great public channel to learn all sorts of things.
Travian Belk: E-UNI is hands down the best place to learn and enjoy the game! If you're confused and overwhelmed by the often difficult mechanics of Eve Online, you will find the UNI a truly marvelous place.
Sans Honore: Eve University is full of great instructors, and a wonderful atmosphere for new players.
Cadela Fria: I'm proud to have been in E-Uni and always guide RL friends who start EVE, to join E-Uni. These guys are the better than the tutorial.
Talana Mershie: By far the single best move you can make early on in the game is to join Eve University.
Pallidum Treponema: Eve University got me started on pvp, and look where that got me. You could do a whole lot worse than joining up with them.
Asuri Kinnes: As important as getting into a good corp is ... I can recommend the UNI without reservation.
Kaeten: Highly recommended if you want to know how this game works properly. Great bunch of guys!
Druk Dorje: Start out in Eve Uni. It's a no brainer. Just do it early - don't go sneak in like I did!
Keln Gadik: E-UNI is the reason I continued playing, I have learned so much about Eve and am growing more confident in my abilities to have fun with this game. I would definitely recommend E-UNI to any new players that find themselves kinda lost in the sandbox.
E Ville: Much love to the uni. Keep up the great work peoples.
Iosue: This is a great place to start your EVE carreer. They provide all the tools, knowledge and experience necessary to succeed in any and every aspect of this game. If you are new and want to know what this game can offer, I highly recommend this corp.
Kailarri: I can't think of a better place for a new player to start than here. I've learned a ton since joining and will happily credit the fact that I'm still in the game to having been in the Uni.
Dr Vitoc: If you are New to the game or ready to quit the game because you dont understand it. Join EVE UNIVERSITY to learn about the game.
Kwashi: Eve University has been a great first home for me; I highly recommend joining for new folks looking to surmount the steep learning curve of this game.
James Arget: Uni is what really pulled me into EVE so that I realized all the great things the game has to offer, and all the wonderful people make playing worth while.
Aurum Pax: Joining the Uni is a decision I most certainly did not regret. The folks there are helpful, friendly and nice. There's no such thing as a stupid question there and their instructors are knowledgable and extremely accomodating.
thunktanker: If you are wondering whether to join the Uni, do it. It will transform the game for you. I am honestly impresed by how interested the members of the Uni are in helping each other grow. Being in the Uni has been a great experiance.
Jensk: I have to thank [E-UNI] - if it wasn't for this great group of people, I wouldn't be enjoying this game so much.
Nepenthis: If you're thinking of joining, don't hesitate. I've had a great time and as a real new player it's been an amazing introduction to EVE.
Artemis Renard: Great corp, great learning experience, and awesome people. I can't possibly emphasize enough the importance for people, both new to the game and returning from a hiatus, to give these guys a try. No other corp in eve gives you this kind of introductory experience.
Kriegarman: E-Uni is epic fun. I have been there well over 2 years. I enjoyed every day of it. always a friendly atmosphere, loads of ops to shoot stuff, be it rocks, missioning, WH's or PvP.
iLLeLogicaL: Great corporation! I would advise every new & old pilot who feels swarmed by the many options & possibilities to join E-Uni, and enjoy learning about eve in a safe, friendly, awesome environment.
L'ouris: Wonderful Corporation for a new player! Extremely active with many helpful members on at all times. Would recommend to any player looking to learn more about any aspect of Eve.
Jiang XiuJuan: The uni was great. I learned a ton and had a great time. I highly recommend it to anyone searching for something to do in Eve.
NagromNniuq: Fantastic corporation. Should be mandatory for anyone new to Eve. Friendly people with all the advice and guidance you could ask for in a game that is arguably the most challenging of them all.
K'ruel: Excellent corp for new players trying to find their feet. Plenty of classes to help learn all aspects of Eve.
Khanda Rahl: If you're new to the game, or getting bored of running missions/mining/etc and wondering what else is out there, this is the corp to join. Sooner or later most people move on. But whatever they decide to do, they're better pilots and have more experience and options thanks to the time they spent in the Uni.
Marius Labo: The benefits I have received as a player and a member of the University have been priceless. I was overwhelmed but now I am learning and having a great time.
MyrddinBishop: I would highly recommend this corp for anyone new to EVE or trying to figure out what to do with their EVE career.
USnameri: I can say that I learned something from these pilots every time I logged into the game. Be it in a class, on a WH op, or in a fleet the pilots you will get to fly with are top notch.
Chernitski: This is hands down the best corporation to join if you're a new player or if you want to teach new players. I wouldnt've played EvE more than a few months if it wasn't for EvE-University.
Drevlon Rashon: I've learned a great deal with Eve University and now I get to give back. Most other corporations you come in at the bottom and you stay at the bottom. It is a great place to learn, as well as grow.

Its no bother at all. If you want to biomass your alts that's totally fine. Might be worth mentioning in your application just for information. As far as time scale goes, at the moment a few days until we review your application (we do get a tonne of them so it takes a little while) and perhaps a few days after that until you join. In the meantime do feel free to hang out with us in Mumble and in our public chat channel 'E-Uni'. |

We're hitting 30 - 40 applications per day at the moment, so we are pretty busy. But the time to get in is less than a week for the vast majority of people. You don't need to spend that week docked up and ship spinning. We encourage you to get out and play the game in the meantime and get asploded as much as you like.

If you've ever heard horror stories about it taking weeks to join EVE Uni, come and give us another try. The process is now much simpler and quicker than it was before. The vast majority of applicants have their application reviewed within 3 days and their interview within another 3 days of applying. We just need a (limited) API, answers to a few short questions and for you to have a short chat with one of our POs.

One of the things that I love about E-UNI is that the corp is so big there's already a community for everything. You can try out those activities you think are interesting and see which ones you like best, whether that is mining in the Amarr Mining Campus, PVP in Syndicate with the Nullsec Campus, missioning, incursions with the Incursions community, wormhole life with the Wormhole Campus, exploration, research and manufacturing with the Lowsec Campus Industry Program or anything else. You don't have to leave your old friends and go through a recruitment process every time you want to try something new, just drop by the community you want to check out and say hi.
There is truly something for everybody here: Come join us! |

Hi,
I recently started playing and Eve Uni was mentioned to me and I also found your help channel.
I did get some great help to begin with and some of your guys even gave me stuff that I didn't even ask for which was really nice. Lately, though, I have found your channel to be less helpful and it's even led me to just log off and walk away. I keep getting told that I'm doing things wrong and I'm just a new player doing what a new player can do while my skills train up. I have a very good idea of what I want to do in the game.
Some people keep telling me I should join you guys to learn but am I going to have to go through what I do sometimes in your channel? Other people tell me that I'd be better off looking elsewhere.
I wouldn't want to go through the whole thing of applying just to get less help and more, I guess I want to call it elitism. It feels like you guys don't know what a new player is limited to. |

Most of the people in the E-Uni channel aren't EVE Uni members, but if you have an issue with anyone in the channel just drop one of our Personnel Officers a line - the MOTD will give you a link to a list of all their names. I was in the channel earlier when you left, and I get the impression the person you were talking to was just joking but didn't realise you weren't laughing. They did apologise, but perhaps you had closed the channel by that point.
We have a lot of experience teaching new players about the game so I'm sure we could help out. If you have any questions do feel free to drop me a line in game
