So you have a titan and it's sitting in a pos somewhere wasting away. Why not get some Billion Isk free kills with it. All you need is a cloaked ship off the undock of a lowsec station that has capital travel. You sit there until a JF or something undocks. Soon as it starts to warp somewhere cyno in the Titan lock it up doomsday! You can kill it before it can redock in 1 shot. No bubbles in lowsec so enjoy the free kills.

Wouldn't it be better to get the DD in immediately after undock, while it has a session timer? Anyone tried to see if that's possible within the time? |

Then again, there are less expensive ways to kill a silly JF pilot.

No, unless the JF decided to align immediately instead of ctrl+spacing and waiting out their timer. Even then, the margin to actually light the cyno, jump the titan, load grid, target the JF, and fire the Doomsday is going to be pretty narrow unless the pilot is as stupid as the OP. |

You know insta warps work for caps too right? Also, you've got something around 30 seconds of invulnerability as long as you don't activate a mod or align somewhere first, plenty of time to jump out.

Maybe with a webbing alt waiting for you to land, but still...
I'd stick to the tried-and-tested Undock-ctrl-space-wait session timer-align to highsec gate with your mouse pointer on the dock button-warp when fully aligned or re-dock if you smell something fishy.

To the people who think it's not possible or only successful if the target pilot fails let me assure you it's very easy. By the time your titan appears on grid the pilot has slim to none chance of avoiding it. Not every cap pilot has a second cyno on standby when they are jumping. So pressing control space and then jumping out takes awhile and will have slim chance of success. Likewise, trying to stop warp and waiting to redock takes time. Between game lag and just the normal randomness of docking the titan can lock up the cap and insta pop it immediately. It's very easy to do and anyone who doubts it's success is trying to rationalize it too much. Jump in pop jump out. Or you can let your titan sit in a pos doing nothing forever. Get out there and have some fun with it. |

These logistic systems have nobody in them. Most of the time it's just you and the guy you are killing. Plus there are ways to get the titan safe quickly. It's ok if you are scared. Not everyone has the courage to use their titans like this. |

When undocking, hit ctrl+space to stop your ship and wait out your session change timer. You cannot be targeted during this time, so the only danger comes from someone undocking a bumping ship immediately behind you. This is a threat and is one way of killing JFs in lowsec, but you don't need a Titan to dunk someone who isn't inside a docking radius.
After your session change timer ends, you will be able to immediately dock at any time, so it is now safe to begin aligning to your outgate. If you spot something fishy while you are aligning, such as a neutral ship lighting a cyno off your station or a Titan jumping through said cyno, immediately ctrl+space and dock again. Unless you are operating your JF out of kickouts or have the reaction times of a dead animal you will be docked before the Titan is even finished loading grid.
Memorize the keyboard shortcuts for these actions to make sure you are performing them quickly. If you are trying to right click your capacitor to stop yourself and then right click in space to select your station it might explain why you are dying in entirely avoidable situations.
EDIT: to provide a specific example, a Ragnarok with a full rack of overheated Sensor Boosters could lock you in a bit under two seconds (so two server ticks), but in the time it takes him online that many modules you should already be docked. |

I think you all are missing the point that once the pilot initiates warp they are no longer invulnerable. You only jump the Titan in when you visually see the pilot align after undock. At that point they are fair game. I assure you it's possible and very easy. If you don't believe that's fine, but don't think I am lying to you about it. |

What everyone else is attempting to point out to you Luigi, is that at that point you can simply press "Control + Spacebar" to stop your attempted warp and dock back up before the Titan would have a chance to even lock you. |

And what I am trying to tell everyone is that will not work in time. Yes maybe you will get lucky and dock but more than likely by the time you see a titan appear on the field your attempt to redock will fail before the titan kills you. I know about trying to redock and it's not 100% reliable to avoid it. |

As long as you are not undocking from a kickout station, what we are all saying, is that yes you can dock in time. Once you receive the message your docking request is accepted, you are invulnerable.
Edit: If your logic is so infallible, then this practice would be more commonplace. As it is not, there may be a reason to re-consider what you are saying and consider the evidence that everyone else has provided. |

Because surely the JF full of pos modules couldn't have been caught setting up a pos or something.
Yes, people are that dumb, and yes, they lose JFs for it. To be frank, that's the whole point. Nobody's denying that a station driveby can be done, what we're saying is that if you're paying attention you have all the tools necessary to make sure it doesn't happen to you. |

Didnt you read the part about going back to hisec mining ? Locking a capital in a titan takes anywhere up of 5s . Doomsday has a ACTIVATION time of 8s and another 4-5 till the actuall dmg hits . If you WARP in by the time you get out of warp the target will be in Jita due to warp speed acceleration . To add it all up even if you jump the target has 18s ( lowest ) to react . I can understand you cant dock in 15s because ...... well .....
Now go back to hisec mining . |
