I am trying to take my newbies into low-sec via instants, but they keep loosing power. I slove mine by getting a bigger ship, but is there a skill or module they could install so I can instant them around safely. -----------

Losing power?
I'm going to assume you mean they run out of cap while jumping.
That's inevitable for frigs when you jump large distances, the only way you can help midigate it is with energy management(+5% max cap/level), and getting up the skill warp drive operation (-10% cap needed for warp/level).

T2 small cap battery doesn't cost much nor take much skill and it gives 84 cap, this almost doubles the cap on some frigs. An Atron fitted with one can clear about 150 AU which is enough for almost any jump, but I'm not sure as skills come into play too though an MWD balances it to near-zero effect.
Anyhow, how "newbie" are we talking about? Energy Management and Warp Drive Op to 2-3 takes about a day I think, why not train them?

The other option is simply to do the double warp to get to your final destination.

it depends, I take in day 1 players, but I have a hard time when moving them from sign up to the newbie system because of this. -----------

As I recall, the capacitor on a shuttle is somewhat higher than that of the newb ship. It may not completely solve the problem, but it should help and ain't no one in EVE can't fly a shuttle.

Give them the bookmarks. Tell them to keep warping to it.

I don't know why I'm bothering, because the answers have already been given and you didn't seem to care, but:
The skills Warp Drive Operation and (to a lesser extent) Energy Management will help. Fitting capacitor batteries will likewise increase your available capacitor.
If they're having the problem all the time on jumps much under 80 AU though, they need to change ships. Bantams, for example, are a major no-no for warping in.

I apologize if I come off that way, as a new player, I want to avoid taking time away from training to get themselves into their dreamship or just that extra skill to make the account more playable.
I am just trying to seek as manay alternatives as possible and choose one. Warp Drive operations is not cheap to a newbie, who works his best off to get 100k ISK, and while I provide start-up cash sometimes. I am trying to make players as self-sufficent as possible. It costs as much as frigate to learn. -----------

Edited by: Illistar DeathWing on 10/10/2006 20:07:05 Well then, you can just tell them to autopilot to that new area, I douth you're taking 1 day old members to low sec, so the 5 extra minutes it'll take them is no big deal.

easyest solution with minimum skill requitements is to just let them use a shuttle, failing that try > these < they do require Engineering lvl 2, and Energy Grid Upgrades 1, neither of which should take much time at all, and many chars may (i think) start with Engineering 2 or above anyway. --- (.)(.) These are boobs. No need to copy and paste them into your sig, they have already gained world domination. Sorry Bunny. |

Cool thanks guys.
I will just wait till they are in a decent frigate before going to low-sec with them. -----------
