CCP keeps adjusting guns and ammo and rebalanceing items / ships. so i was thinking why not let players adjust theyr Guns. Same concept as you'd adjust Attiributes .
For example :
Neutron Blaster Cannon II : PLayers should be able to improve the tracking speed of theyr guns - several or all of them and the expense of DMg. Modif . Same concept for optimal. Improve optimal at the expence of ROF. I think makeing guns this way will make most ships more versatille then they are now. Same concept can be made on ammo as well. |

Take 100 people using that concept: They will eliminate the need for tracking through force multipliers (leaving more damage) and then they'll concentrate everything on volley over RoF.
Suddenly there are maelstroms with 20k volleys, no one wants that.

Yeah, already adjustable in game, no need for your idea.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

Someone will find the "best" overall settings and then the guns won't really be adjustable any more. Pointless. |

sounds like an expensive T3 module idea
Tech 3's need to be multi role ships not cruiser hulls with battleship tank and insane resists.
ABC's are clearly T2 in all but name.. remove drone/fighter assist mechanic.
Nerf web strength ..... Make the blaster eagle worth using please.

Adjust guns in station, put them in cargo, refit on depot/carrier. Quick and easy workaround. And not an arduous task. Many do this now with ships. When I lived in 0.0 I had fleets of premades in hangar I took the time to make ahead of time. 1 rig combo 1, another rig combo 2, the AC wolf, the arty wolf, etc.....Your mods get the benefit of being portable (not in a carrier lol).
CCP balances these things chief. Your high damage low track guns are by design. They don't get the big money shots as often....but they hit hard when they do. CCP provides mods for this if an issue. Use them. Something else on the fit may have to go, that's how it goes.
Or bring friends with webs. bonused for webs even better. Everyone loves webs being spammed....well everyone except the target lol.
Or some races like minmatar....drop the bore down size a little. frig on frig I tend to like 150's over 200's. 150's get me better tracking at costs to other areas. Or I slap on 200's and except I will miss a bit more and hope it comes out in the wash.
Well that and you'd see no variety in a short time span. FOTM will arise. It will be spammed. And be the standard. This is why you see in current even SSDD vanilla fits. 9/10 dentists agree its the best, the masses say good enough for me. |

You didn't mention rigs , so yeah enough tools for adjustments already in game. |

There are already modules that do that for players, and allowing players to make theuir own adjustments on the base level would really unbalance a lot of the weapons.

The ability to affect how your weapons perform is not only already covered by tracking mods, but also the ammo you use, the meta of weapon you use (soon tm), the ship you use, rigs you use....
already covered....very much already covered.

Too covered. They should just delete all these ammo/modules/rigs, and roll their functionality into adjustable guns. Finer adjustments, at the same place. Less clutter, more functionality. |

Sure and remove ammo and slots from every ship. Oh you wanted tank in those slots? well tough now that everyone has free gyros, TE's and rigs we need to compensate for all the fits that used to use those modules.
Rolling everything into 'adjustable guns' means you just have to fit the guns...no meaningful choice.
bad idea is still bad.

Sounds just like the Module Tiercides goal, once it reaches the rest of the weapons that are not LML |
