Not sure this is the right section for this but, I can see a new star! ... It's large and very bright in the Ordat system in Sukanan Constellation in the Amarr Region. its in the opposite part of the sky from the new nebula. But its not visible from any of the systems next door.
there is a VERY distinctive nebula behind it so I'm sure I'm looking at the same part of the sky. Anyone else seeing new stars? |

Two things;
1 - In 2015, you should create your topic with a screenshot ready to post if at all possible, as this won't get discussed by people until they have picture evidence.
2 - People have been seeing 'new stars' ten times a week since the Caroline's star incident. None of them have been new stars, New Eden has a LOT of bright stars, just nobody was looking at the backdrop of the game until Caroline's Star made them decide to.
Those two things aside, it is POSSIBLE, but you'll need to provide a screen grab. |

Sorry forgot about screenshots
Ordat (the star in question is the bright one) http://i.imgur.com/88hzfYx.jpg
Nasesharafa - two systems over. (same nebula but no star)

Oh and in regards my edit above to the original post about it possibly being the neighboring system's star (Keshirou)? If i go from Ordat through Keshirou (the suspect star system) and jump out to Nasesharafa and look back towards where the map says Keshirou is? I only see a faint star in that general direction (nothing that stands out) - not a bright one like I do from Ordat. However Nasesharafa is twice the distance away from Keshirou as ordat is. |

Well, I figured - if I was seeing a sun from the system next door then the reverse would be true too, I should see Ordat's sun just as bright and obvious as i was seeing kesh's from Ordat, right?
Yep, almost hidden in the glare of a nebula, but its in the right direction, and MUCH bigger and brighter (even has its own flare like the regular sun).
So mystery solved... you can see the suns of other solar systems from the system next door.
Sorry for the bother. 'Now back to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress'

That is a neighboring star. Why don't you see it next door in the same position? Distance. |

In future just add all the neighboring systems as way points and see if the star gets connected to the auto pilot route constellation. |

I blame CCP for this.
By CCP naming the 'Carolines Star' phenomenon after whats-her-face, CCP has sparked a whole movement of 'OMG IS THAT NEW STAR!?!?!!?! BETTER POST ABOUT IT FIRST!!!! HASHTAGYOLOSWAG420'S STAR BABY! YEAH!!!!!'.
Thanks CCP.
